Stirring the pot Sty?? I assume you are pointing out the part where he says the skins really dont have the QB they want.

OK I'll play. If they means gruden, I can see where Kirk isnt the guy he wants him to be yet. He does need to cut down on the turn overs and improve on his mechanics some. But both are teachable and correctable.

If the THEY he refers to is Dan and Bruce... well we all know THEY want a QB who not only wins games, but looks good as the face of the franchise. They would settle for a guy who looks good and loses though if history is any indicator.

And if they refers to the fan base in DC... well I dont think THEY really know what they want.

And if he is referning strictly to Gruden and SM... I think he is wrong as both are better served by an Improved Cousins than by having a need to draft a QB next year.

To claim Gruden is a top 10 coach in this league is just foolishness at this point. While I think he got a bit of a raw deal when he got here, with all of the crap going on in this franchise, I also think he was overwhelmed during the games at times. Can he grow and become a top coach? Maybe. But so far he is not. In any event, he deserves a couple more years to implement his plan with his people. Then whe can judge what type of coach he will be.

Hard to take this seriously seeing as it came from the guy who claimed 10 teams would be lining up to hire Hazmat.

So let me ask you... short of this team either winning the Division, or at least being in the Division hunt come week 12 or so.. Do you honestly think Gruden gets the time to really implement his plan?? Because I think we can all admit last year was not so much about Grudens plan. And fair or not, if this team finishes with 6 wins as a few around here are calling, its hard for me to see him having support from ownership. Not even to mention a fan base that wanted him fired as of around week 12 last year.

Who knows. I would like to believe that Scot is making that call and recognizes that any coach coming into this circus needs time. But if KC falters and we only win 4 more games or less, I can only imagine that dan would exert pressure for a change. I can tell you that the vast majority of the fan base will be calling for his head. But here is the thing....who are we going to get that would be any better? If the fire Gruden, we most likely will have another raw, unproven HC and will be starting from scratch all over again. Deja vu all over again.

I think that many here are simply viewing this from a fans pt of view. I truly don't believe that SM & others view things in the same manner. I could easily see 6 wins and Gruden returning since the FO will not use the same criteria as the fanbase. I also don't believe that Gruden & Cousins are in this together & that a switch in QBs next season necessarily means that Gruden will be fired.

Remember - SM stated that this would be a difficult season so I don't believe that he (or even Snyder) was expecting a playoff team this season. What they are expecting is progress in the team that shows that they are accumulating talent and that Gruden is learning & is capable of being a quality coach in the NFL. Thus far I think that they are doing pretty well in these areas in spite of what any naysayers may maintain.

I agree. If we see what we what we've seen so far, which should be about 6-7 wins, that should be enough to retain Gruden

I will not defend what someone else has written, just their right to do so. That said, I don't believe that he was referring to any sort of split among the decision makers. In fact I'll go a step further and say that I believe that all involved are on or close to being on the same page with respect to ongoing decisions. Thank you SM!!!!

to say that gruden is a top ten coach is plain foolishness at this point however he isnt nearly as bad as some would have him be

lets look at a few things

1st he hired callahan and barry (SM said he had that authority ) both moves have worked out well hiring canvanuagh was another plus as KC is improved

the decision to play KC at qb has ignited the team and sent a message to the team produce or sit roberts is another guy who got the message

he has managed the TE situation expertly . we are on our 4th and 5th string TES

the team overall looks very much improved in most facets of the game o/line , d/line cbs

player development is also on the rise moses , the te's , our young wrs jarret , smith thompson jones are all contributing

the coaching choice to play scherf at OG and moses at RT has paid huge benefits

sticking with thompson was a sound choice .

getting a new FG kicker has turned out right

tackling is better

time management is better

now for some things to work on

play calling it could improve but lets see what happens when we have our full team out there , maybe the training wheels get taken off when a djax is healthy with reed however it is conservative and predictable

penalties are killing us and that is a discipline issue

now overall i think this season gruden has earned more time to get his program in place

Good breakdown Dad and I agree. I'll just continue to complain about his lack of halftime adjustments until that changes. But I agree, unless there is a total collapse he deserves to come back.

Glad I read this post before I clicked the article. That prediction was so outlandishly, ass backwards, nonsensical, triflin, and deeply flawed. That had I read that article and later found out it was this particular clown that wrote it. I would've had to challenge Stymie to a pistols at dawn duel and I grown quite fond of Stymie during my brief time here at SportsHoopla. I would've shot him in the face with a pistol at dawn in our duel though.

I might have to kneecap you Dave just to calm down and you're like a brother to me. Good lookin out though homey and no worries. I'll just slap the shit out my momma and her homegirls when I go over there for breakfast today.

Message Delivery, but you shouldn't be shot or kneecapped for that.

Gruden ain't bustin a grape play-calling-wise and a case could be made, at least imo, that's he's hurting the Skins offense far more than helping it. I'd say he's coaching like a little girl now, but that would be too disparaging to little girls everywhere.

He needs to find out wherever he left his nuts, get them back, superglue them puppies back on and do away with this play not too lose nonsense. He could start by employing Darryl Young and the FB position back into the offense and getting Rashad Ross involved in the offense. This waiting for Djax to get back bullshit is just that, bullshit.

Aha.....shoot the messenger huh? Since I've been warned, looks like my best option would be to turn after two paces and make sure that I pop out an eyeball or two as you begin your third step. :heh:

I ain't mad at ya, homey. I must say though. Gruden's play-calling plan, or lack thereof, is baffling to say the least. And opinions that he's protecting Kirk or the youngsters. Or doesn't yet trust the youngsters. Are ringing more and more hollow. Especially in light of Rashad Ross being the very first player he called out to step up after Djax's initial prognosis after the Phins game.

Heed your own words, Coach and step up. Time to get down or lay down.
