Lions workout ex-Jets CB Dimitri Patterson

Detroit Lions work out CB Dimitri Patterson, who denied going AWOL with Jets | Detroit Free Press | freep.com

Currently, they have four healthy cornerbacks on their roster: starters Rashean Mathis and Darius Slay, rookie fourth-round pick Nevin Lawson and veteran backup Cassius Vaughn.
Undrafted rookie Mohammed Seisay is on the practice squad.
“We have a number of different alternatives,” Lions coach Jim Caldwell said before practice today. “At this point, we are where we are, and Lawson’s still going to slide in, and Vaughn will bump up, and we’re in good shape. We’ll hand out a depth chart a little bit later in the week, after we filter things out a little bit.”

by BB_72.... seems like Patterson on the downside of his career but he does have 79 NFL games of experience.... Is he a Head-Case tho with that NYJets fiasco ? Damn, only 35 PD's and 9 INT's for his career....

Starting right tackle LaAdrian Waddle suffered a calf strain on the Lions’ first series Monday and could miss this week’s game against the Carolina Panthers (1 p.m., Fox).
Undrafted rookie Cornelius Lucas likely would start against the Panthers if Waddle can’t play. The Lions re-signed lineman Garrett Reynolds as a backup guard/tackle.
At one point in the game, actually we were getting Pettigrew ready to go in there and play some tackle if need be, because it just had gotten to that point,” Caldwell said today. “But Corey was a quality guy for us in every way.”

If nothing else he'd give us a lot more size in the slot. He's a lot bigger than Bentley and Lawson.

Digs practicing is great news. Safety was getting thin very fast. I would like to see how Lucas does at RT. Just did not want it against the Panthers D. Hilliard had no upside. Lucas has a lot more. I hope he impresses so we don't see Hilliard anymore. I am fine with Reynolds as another backup.

Lmfao... guess some things just never change. Convincing win on MNF to open the season, and two days later its right back to bitching. :L

We have a rookie CB step in and look OK, which should make us happy, right? Wrong! Our DBs still suck, they just looked ok against the Giants because they're not a real NFL team.

And Broyles is clearly a bust because he was inactive this week, 'cuz that makes total sense.

And here I was hoping that a big MNF win would have the board in good spirits all week and quiet some of the complaining for a few days. Silly me...

Yes, please just disregard where I said the lions completely dominated the game and instead per usual focus on the fact that some of us posters here who have watched the lions fail miserably for years understand theres more to the season then winning their first game of the season at home against a team that clearly will be playing for last place. Last year when we were 6-3 there were a few of us that knew the lions were nowhere near as good as their record and of course we were blasted by you like always, and of course once again we were right. Regarding broyles, Ive actually asked several times throughout the course of the week what was going on with him and why was he inactive because it wasnt mentioned during the broadcast. If hes inactive because corey fuller is better han him, then yes hes a bust. If he has an injury and thats why he was inactive that would be great to know. He did look good in the preseason, (granted it was against second and third string) and I was excited to see him playing with tate and cj this year because I though maybe he was healthy and would contribute. To me as of this point he is quickly going the route of leshoure (who I was a fan of btw, what no way? I only bitch, how is that possible?) i loved how lawson came in and did well, but that doesnt quell my concerns about the secondary. You picked the lions to be 9-7 I believe as did I, well guess what? A 9-7 team has many concerns. Instead of nitpicking on posts where posters critique the lions and discuss what needs improvement you need to focus on only the positive aspects of a post because clearly you cant handle criticism of the lions, period. You choose to ignore
-how much I talk about how great stafford is going to be-
-how much I praise suh, levy and really the front seven of the defense-
-how much I loved the golden tate signing and talked about how great he will be in detroits offense-
-how much of a weapon and playmaker bush is-

So for the love of god, shut up man. Its nonstop, your bullshit. Nobody here can have an opinion that differs from yours without it blowing up. I can disagree with just about any other poster here, (really any other poster) on issues that we can agree to disagree on. I have no problem respecting other posters opinions, but you sir make it very hard. I completely disagree with smitty on stafford but we get along fine. I completely disagree with kreton on just about everything but we do ok. You on the other hand have numerous run ins and long winded arguments with numerous posters. Its ridiculous man, you really need to do some self reflection on how awful you are.
