They re-signed Reynolds this morning, but he's a guard. Tough break for Hilliard. Certainly problematic if Waddle can't go Sunday.

I believe Reynolds came into the NFL as a tackle and was moved to guard for the Falcons due to injuries, but I may be mistaken on that...

from The Freep article........

Reynolds spent training camp with the Lions and played well as a backup guard and tackle.

Yep, you're right. Played tackle at UNC.

Tpaul, suggesting of kicking the tires on Eric Winston isn't a bad idea at all. He's regressed over the past couple of years but I believe we need someone with NFL experience at RT. Reynolds or Winsto would do that. If O-Line coach Washburn feels as if Rookie Cornelius Lucas can get the job done, then so be it. It appears to me that Hilliard's spot would be taken by a CB, if you read the articles.

The giants offense was so awful the lions could have trotted anybody out there and they would have been fine. The giants offense looked like detroits offense in the past. Botched plays, multiple dropped passes, no running game whatsoever and two turnovers.

Bentleys done. They can add him to the list of busts. Looks like broyles can for sure be added to list as well. Why was he inactive? Is he injured, or is everyone else better? If hes getting the leshoure treatment this season, hes as good as gone as well.

Lmfao... guess some things just never change. Convincing win on MNF to open the season, and two days later its right back to bitching. :L

We have a rookie CB step in and look OK, which should make us happy, right? Wrong! Our DBs still suck, they just looked ok against the Giants because they're not a real NFL team.

And Broyles is clearly a bust because he was inactive this week, 'cuz that makes total sense.

And here I was hoping that a big MNF win would have the board in good spirits all week and quiet some of the complaining for a few days. Silly me...

I totally forgot about Michael Williams on the practice squad. He looked a lot better at tackle than expected, given his position switch and all, so don't be surprised to see him brought up if Reynolds/Lucas aren't cutting it...

see this is where shit always comes unraveled with you. You can't just let others have their opinion when it's not the same as yours. You take it so personal like you need everyone to be happy or you lose it. The Lions fans don't revolve around you. Let people have their thoughts. Broyles could very well be another bust. Don't take it so personally man.

Losing both RT is a huge blow. Look for a plethora of screen passes vs. Carolina.

RobBase, speaking of screen passes, in MNF 2nd game, that is exactly what got AZ back in the game. I'm not sure how many in here watched the game but Palmer had 3-wr's in an 11 package and li'l rb Ellington would wiggle through a,b or c gap, 3-5 yds past LOS, while the Charger's Def was in nickel package and those DB's were 17+ yards downfield. Ellington was wide open and gained a minimum of 12+ yards every damn time. Something to think about for Lombardi. Especially against Carolina's Def. I think their DB's will have a very hard time trying to contain our WR's.

Oh BTW, those little flares, screens, flat passes occurred 6 times after the 5 min mark of the 3rd qtr.... just sayin

Speaking of the 2nd MNF game, li'l ole ex-TCU CB and 2014 1st rd draftee by the Charger's, Jason Verrett, all 5'9" 185 lbs., played lights out as a #2 CB and some nickel back. Watch this kid !

See my Avi change.... Oregon's Ifo Ekpre-Olomu (5' 10" 190 lbs.)... same, same, as Verrett.... both provide tight, press cover skills, physical at the LOS, very good in run support and most of all...... great technicians at the position with ball-hawk skills....

Carolina's defense is very similar to ours in that they have a great front 7, and a poor secondary...

Jim Caldwell explains why he played Corey Fuller while deactivating Ryan Broyles, Kevin Ogletree | MLive.com

Took me aboot 8 seconds to find that article. I googled:why in fucks sake was Ryan Broyles inactive.

You're Welcome.

Hopefully Waddle doesn't miss more than just next week. We need him back badly.

ex-OC Linehan sure wouldn't have thought of this; ...........................................................................

"It's not real complicated," Caldwell said. "Each and every week, what we do is we look, from an offensive standpoint, what best suits us for this particular game with the personnel we're dealing with. Sometimes it just depends on the personnel grouping we'll spend the most time in, (and that'll) determine who's up or down in that situation.

:wtf2: U mean to tell me a H.C., a never before O.C. actually don't do the same shit every single week and design some new or different game plan, for every single team they're going to play... This is :bullshit:and a ...... I don't know if I can get used to this way of thinking....

Verrett was my number 2 CB behind Fuller. Most everyone else was on Gilbert and Dennard. I really liked him but I think he was the one with the off field issues.

I saw some of the college kid from Oregon. So far so good. need to see more though.

I believe Reynolds came into the NFL as a tackle and was moved to guard for the Falcons due to injuries, but I may be mistaken on that...

I thought Reynolds was excellent in preseason and was hoping they kept him. Lucas showed lots of potential too. Hilliard going down is probably a positive, although I thought he played decent Monday. L'Adrian was my boy last year and we need him back. Williams is nowhere near ready either. He can stay on the PS.

OldLion, I do not recall Verrett having any off-field issues but I do recall ex-Ohio CB Roby having many.... I may very well be wrong about Verrett.

I tried that google thing-a-ma-jig, that smitty was talkin' about and didn't come up with anything, YET.
