Baluga to the IR?

What? another starter on IR? Looks like the NFL is sending them to the Super Bowl again... oh I'm sorry, I mean they'll get focused as a team and play "mistake free" ball.... pfffft... bullshit.

Its really amazing how this team gets better with the more starters that they lose to injury... just a crazy coincidence that their penalties go down to about 1 or 2 a game when they lose so many starters. Shit, typically when teams lose this many starters they get pretty fucking awful and their penalties go up because the backups aren't as disciplined.... but not the Packers.

1 penalty for 5 yards against the Cards, Zona gets 8 for 57
5 penalties for 33 yards against the Jags, Jax gets 7 for 77
3 penalties for 30 yards against the Rams, StL gets 6 for 30
4 penalties for 51 yards against the Texans, Hou gets 7 for 69
9 penalties for 89 yards against the Colts, Ind gets 9 for 100 Holy Shit, a loss when officials actually penalize them....
7 penalties for 43 yards against the Saints, NO gets 10 for 72
10 penalties for 127 yards against the Seahawks, Sea gets 14 for 118.. Holy Shit, another loss when the replacements weren't afraid to throw the flag
4 penalties for 54 yards against the Bears, Chi gets 8 for 65
10 penalties for 77 yards against the 49ers, SF gets 8 for 66 What do you know, a loss

Its getting really hard to continue being a fan of the NFL when it is becoming increasingly clear that they engineer victories for teams that have no business winning with the amount of players they lose to injury.

This is a team that could face the Lions without both of its starting WRs, without both of its starting OLBs, without Woodson, without its ILB, without its starting DE, without their starting RT... and they'll come out with a 3 TD victory... and 2 penalties. With the Lions getting close to 10 penalties

What a load of shit.

I do think that they get an insane number of calls go their way, but they also have Aaron Rogers and that helps. He is a guy who will get the ball to anybody who is running the route.

I can understand Rodgers being able to keep them afloat on offense, especially with Cobb and Jones still being above average WRs and they stepped in nicely.

But their defense is missing around 5 or 6 starters, and they are just chugging along like it ain't no thing... that is total BS. Just look at the Rams last year, when the injury bug hit them... it turned them into practically the worst team in the league.

It's ridiculous that the NFL does that... but nobody cares because the WWE, I meant he NFL, has built this myth that anything is possible with an MVP QB.

Anyway, say what you want about how clueless the replacements were, and they certainly deserve that criticism. But i really miss the fact that they didn't follow that NFL Dogma of turning a blind eye towards penalties committed by the Packers, Steelers, and Patriots. It isn't some coincidence that all three of those teams started out with losing records with the replacements and then have lost maybe one game with the regular refs back...

Im just really starting to hate the NFL because of this, this is why I stopped watching the NBA... when they started to guide teams to the Finals with favorable officiating... it just got unwatchable.

Adam Schefter:

While focus is on Ben Roethlisberger's shoulder, greater concern is his injured rib. Roethlisberger's rib injury is rare and dangerous.

Doctors are concerned that Ben Roethlisberger's rib injury could lead to more internal damage if he were to play Sunday.

Ben Roethlisberger confirmed Wednesday that his rib injury is a bigger concern than his shoulder ailment, and that the issue is so rare, there haven't been any documented cases since 1998.
Roethlisberger's rib is partially dislocated, and could actually kill him if it pressed against his aorta. Beat writer Ed Bouchette expects Roethlisberger to be out "a while." At this point, Roethlisberger returning for Pittsburgh's Week 13 tilt with the Ravens is looking like the best-case scenario, albeit an unlikely one. It's officially time for fantasy owners to be making other plans.

Bummer. I'd much rather Arizona wins than Atlanta.

Kent Somers:

#azcardinals DE C. Campbell limited today. game time decision. I'd be surprised, stunned even, if he played. Kolb out today.

Greg Bedard:

Looks like Gronkowski was injured on the final extra point after Vereen's TD. He reemerged for that play after sitting on the drive.

And if you aren't a schedule watcher, the 49ers face the Patriots in 28 days in Foxboro on a Sunday night on NBC.

Dan Patrick: Rodney, you played in the Super Bowl. You had a broken forearm that you suffered in the game. Can Gronk play football with a broken arm?

Rodney Harrison: Play? I couldn't even sleep. It took me 6 weeks to heal. No way. There's no way he can play.

On #Patriots & Gronkowski injury: think Xs & Os. Lose the impact of Seam route, Hi-Lo concept. Two of the top routes in the NE playbook.

Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski's surgery to repair his broken forearm will likely be tomorrow, I'm told.

What Gronkowski's injury means for the Patriots - Extra Points - Boston.com

•Heard from a few sources that on the previous extra point, Gronkowski got into it with a couple of Colts. Didn’t look like it carried over to the final extra point.

•The true timeframe is unknown until Gronkowski is examined Monday, but he’s being told it’s somewhere in the realm of 4-6 weeks. That would almost definitely put him out for games against the Jets, Dolphins, Texans, and 49ers. After that, they’ll have to see. Some guys heal more quickly than others. And Gronkowski, being 23, has youth on his side. One thought is that if he can come back on the short end with a brace, he might not be able to block as effectively, but could be useful as more of a receiver.
