The only "good" thing about minor or short term injuries is that it gives Patricia and McDaniels an opportunity to really see what the backups can do. If they can't do the job then the backup to the backup gets an honest chance to show his stuff. Can you say Malcolm Butler? Can you say Dion Lewis? Can you say Rob Ninkovich?

The only issue is that you hope those injuries are ones that just keep them out of the preseason games that don't matter. When you start having 5-6 guys or more that are going to miss time into the season it gets a bit harder to balance the team and know which guys you should just maybe go ahead and IR. That is the biggest issue I see for the Patriots especially with such an unknown early in the season then to be missing some key players.

The list just keeps getting longer

Vollmer (Hip-Very serious)
Lewis (Knee - Under repair, serious)
Amendola (Knee -Unknown, serious)
Sheard (Knee - moderate)
McLellin (Knee - moderate)
Mason (Broken Hand - moderate to serious)
Jackson ( Knee/back - moderate to serious)
Foster (Leg - not serious, but concerning)

Expectations are high and it's frustrating for fans to have to deal with same crap year in and year out. It's time to start cutting ties with repeaters. The offensive line is critical and the team shouldn't be trying to find guys who can step in, they should have already picked up the back ups and not be trying to fit someone in.

Love it. I think it's going to come down to him or Mason, so I am glad they are both back.

If that is the case, I'd rather keep Mason. Cooper just can't stay healthy. We drafted Mason last year. Unless Scar just doesn't want him.

Cooper will be on this team no matter what. They paid him 2.5m this off season. He may not start, but will be on this roster. I still think it is Coopers spot to lose.
