Then he'll be a "wait and see". He's a free agent at the end of this year and I can't imagine he'd want to spend it on IR.

You are right have to wait and see. If they think he will be out say 4-5 weeks into the season then most likely they will have no choice but to IR him. Now if they like him they can do the short-term IR where he can come back later but my guess is they would rather save that for somebody else just in case. Hard though to keep him on the roster if you know he is going to miss a big chunk of the season.

I believe Stork also threw punches (reports are BB talked to the guy Stork hit after practice today). He did the same shit in Denver last yr that ended up killing a drive, we can't have that. Be curious if he gets traded or kept here of OG/C depth. Would love to know WTF is going on with Cooper, how long does this shit take? Would love to see what this line looks like with him in there. It seems the left side (Solder/Thuney/Andrews) have that locked down and are looking good. All the issues I read are on the right side.

Dude, plantar fascia is no joke.

Brady didn't play last night because he sliced his right thumb with a pair of scissors.

Lou Merloni on WEEI say that this is "Bullshit". His reasoning? Brady is right handed. A right handed person has a terrible time working a pair of scissors with his left hand and unless there was some really exceptional thing going on, Brady would be cutting tape or gauze or anything else right handed.

No one has seen Brady, so no one could ask him. Belichick won't get into it. I have to agree with Merloni......something isn't right.

Roster cuts are in 12 days.

I thought TB left the stadium also. I agree something is fishy. I have sliced my finger open and have been able to be seen in public. TB does this and he is MIA? If it was a little cut, he would have been in uniform on the sidelines, not heading home before anyone finds out. I'm telling you, this suspension is fucking with him in some way. His head is elsewhere. Maybe this was the plan all along, TB not here for games so they team can get use to him not being here...Who knows...another unsolved mystery of the NE Patriots....

Can we talk Dion Lewis here?? I didn't think much of it until I heard Stephana Bell talk about him. She thought it was weird that he was doing things in OTA's and now he has been nowhere. I use to see him on Twiffer and Instaface talking about his progress, now nothing. She thought it was very uncommon for an ACL injury, that you practice, and now nothing. She is right. At least guys like Mitchell and JE were doing conditioning while hurt. Can you say PUP list...which means we will have Blount, Gaffney, White and Bolden. Lewis, Foster, Brown all hurt...not something I am looking forward too...

Wow very strange indeed on both accounts.
I'm hating the RB stable w/o Lewis. Tired of Blount trying to make cuts behind the line. Get that big body going north and south damn it. Never a fan of Bolden. Just hoping White can step up? Man I so wantec a RB in the draft or FA. We saw last year what happens when the Pats can't at least make teams think they can run against them.

I agree. If Lewis isn't playing this week, he's not going to be available until at least Week 8. 6 Weeks on PUP and a couple to get back into full games shape. Best guess would be the week after the Bye, which is Week 9. So game 10? Maybe BB will pick up a cast off.........First cuts in 10 days.

Looks like Vollmer is done for the year as well. I hate preseason when we start seeing all these injuries show up. Last year we lost a huge chunk of our OL before the season even started. Just keep hoping that after every game I don't see that flash on my Bronco feed.

In addition, the Globe also reported that starting right tackle Sebastian Vollmeris "likely headed" to injured reserve with an undisclosed injury, and second-year right guard Shaq Mason has a broken hand; the timetable for his return is not known.

Belichick won't screw around and wait to see if Lewis will make it back by December. He'll IR him and he better be ready to go in time for the OTAs next spring.

Vollmer hasn't been able to stay healthy for the past three years. Stick a fork in him. The biggest concern here is whether or not Waddle can up his game or will Cannon get his 92nd chance to "show" what he can't do.

A broken hand doesn't always keep an OL on the sideline. Mason is in a dogfight with Kline for the RG job and according to most of the local 'experts', Kline was actually outplaying him.

I hate to say it, but Belichick ignored everyone who said that he should draft an offensive tackle. It could come back to bite him in the ass.

My guess is that the Patriots will be looking for a veteran tackle and a running back next Wednesday when the first roster cuts are made.

The reports I saw had Cannon getting the nod:eek::doh::puke:

Patriots' Dion Lewis: Looking at 8-10 week recovery
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire
NE.png

Lewis -- who is slated to undergo what is being described as a "relatively minor" procedure on his left knee, figures to be sidelined for about 8-10 more weeks, the Boston Herald reports.

The report suggests that Lewis' left ACL -- which was repaired last November -- is sound, with the procedure being characterized as a clean-up. Based on this recovery estimate, there appears to be a good chance that Lewis is trending toward starting the coming season on the Patriots' PUP list, but on the plus side, the report solidifies the notion that Lewis has a good chance of playing this season. In his absence, look for James White to see added change-of-pace work in the New England offense, with the roster prospects of the likes of Tyler Gaffney, Donald Brown and even D.J. Foster boosted by the backfield void created by Lewis' injury.

Sounds like Jabaal Sheard has a sprained MCL and could miss 2-6 weeks depending on the severity.

The only "good" thing about minor or short term injuries is that it gives Patricia and McDaniels an opportunity to really see what the backups can do. If they can't do the job then the backup to the backup gets an honest chance to show his stuff. Can you say Malcolm Butler? Can you say Dion Lewis? Can you say Rob Ninkovich?
