I disagree. Burkhead would clearly be the third back and if we started losing guys to injury other backs would be signed. The only carries Peerman would ever see in a regular game would be in week 17. He doesn't need reps in August so he can be ready for spot duty in December.

And where did I say the sky was falling? I don't expect Peerman's injury to cost us the playoffs, but I'm tired of people thinking he doesn't matter to the special teams. There is a reason why we are now good on coverage teams and it's because we value guys that do the job well. Peerman was a pro-bowl special teamer.... That's not easy to replace and it does matter.

You are probably right about Burkhead and the signings, but it is what it is. If you didn't play any player at all because of their importance, then who the hell plays? It's easy to sit back and say "no one should play", but then when they look like they haven't had any live reps in games 1-2-3 and it takes them 4 weeks to get going, people are going to complain about that.

All I'm saying is: It sucks, but it is what it is. If this team is as deep as everyone says it is, someone will step up and produce.

I agree that they can't all sit out..... I think the starters need to play because they need the practice. Peerman's case just struck me as particularly tough because I consider running back to be 'out of position' for him given how unlikely he is to play it during the season.

Unfortunately we're incredibly thin at corner.... That's a place we normally draw from for special teams.

I'd like to see them possibly bring in a veteran corner. Somebody will be cut loose who could probably contribute. At least until we can get Dennard back. Right now all we have is Adam Jones, Dre, Shaw and Lewis-Harris.

Oddly enough, I think his injury opens the door for the Bengals to keep an extra WR (Erickson).

Brandon Tate is a lock. you can take that to the bank.
Oh, I don't doubt that, but with no Peerman, you can keep an extra WR and go one less at RB. Wright and Erickson could go on the PS, but of the two, Wright likely sticks and Erickson is likely to get claimed. Also, Erickson seems like he could be more of a true slot WR, where as the rest of the WR's are more apt to lineup outside.

Also, if Erickson can continue to return punts as he has, he gives the Bengals another option rather than risk Jones. Not saying he would take it over full-time, but certainly would be nice to have that added depth built in. Plus, with his hustle, there's no doubt he could be a solid addition to special teams.

With Tate gone, who is the most unpopular Bengal?

I guess Bodine is the leader in the clubhouse, but don't sleep on Nugent or Kirkpatrick.

You can almost guarantee that Erickson fumbles his first punt return attempt.

I think we need to reevaluate our training program during the season. Like, concentrate on weight lifting during the offseason and maybe go to bodyweight and stretching only during preseason and during the season.

Maybe hire a yogi?

Went too far.

Now it's going to work in reverse. Good job. He'll never leave. Thanks a lot.

Bo, Dre, and Peko are well above Mikey on my list. Margus Hunt is hangin around too.

I wouldn't mind seeing the Bengals add Boom Herron to the team if they decide to IR Peerman. He was a beast on special teams for us when he was here. I'm sure it would also be fully endorsed by the Buckeye homers around here.
