All four of our 1st round picks from '13 to '16 are more than likely not going to be active or will be seriously limited come Week 1 in New York.

W. Jackson - pec
Ogbuehi - toe
Dennard - hamstring?
Eifert - ankle

Good grief.

Must be football season in Cincy. Gonna be a rough start to the season with all these guys missing. Not to mention Burfict's suspension.

We may get not break 10 points in New York. No Eifert. No LaFell. Rookie WR making his first start. Expect a lot of Hill tip toeing for a 1 yard gains.

The good news is, Tyler Boyd looks like a guy ready to contribute this year. Very polished, savvy and smooth for a rookie. LaFell's injury ensures another heaping dose of Brandon Tate in 2016. Get excited people!!

Ogbuehi looked awful Friday night. Must have been playing through that toe injury. I'm already on the fence with this guy. Fisher will be fine in his place.

Billings' injury really stinks. I thought he was a total steal from where they got him. Would've been huge a boost in run defense. Good thing the Bengals brought back Pat Sims.

Side notes:

Margus Hunt needs to be cut. Total soft ass panty waste of talent.

I also think the Mario Alford experiment needs to end. That Erickson kid showed more pop than Alford has in 2 years.

Hopefully, this will mean the team will be healthier towards the end of the season this year, unlike being healthy all last year until the end.

Now the decision is going to loom on Billings vs WJIII on injury to return IR. I've said before, and I think everyone agrees, it's ridiculous that you can't IR more than 1 person to return. Especially in a game like football. There needs to be an injury list like in MLB or at least something close. Who do you designate at this point? Hard call, because either one of them *could* return and yet, either one of them *could* end up missing the year. Since both practiced, neither are eligible for the PUP to start the season.

I thought Ogbuehi looked OK. Not great, but not horrible. Sucks that it's a toe thing, because those things linger through the year.

I've been very impressed with Boyd. I think he could be a guy that could, *potentially*, step into that #2 role and do pretty decent. But, they need a healthy option at TE to help, not to mention 2014 Jeremy Hill. We'll see. Dalton is going to be tested early on after having everyone healthy in 2015, he's going to be missing parts to start the season. It's going to be on him to get the offense moving and scoring points. His growth will either be proven and he is going to shine, or shrivel.

At this point, I'd almost just cut Hunt, and leave Billings on the active roster and hope he can return. You get the same thing out of either one of them at this point....nothing.

I'm not ready for Alford to be shown the door quite yet. He's got to get healthy, injured his ankle this past game or practice leading up to it. 7th round pick is going to take a bit of time to polish (if he has anything to show), but his speed is something you can't teach and it's worth keeping around for now. Happy for the Erickson kid on some nice plays, but coming against a bunch of guys who will be bagging my groceries in another two weeks doesn't really raise my eyebrow much. Do it against the #1's, or even some #2's, and we'll talk. Also, it would be nice to see Alford used in that role some. It seems to be something they keep talking about, but then Tate gets 100% of the reps.

In all my years as a Bengals fan, I have never, nor will ever the life of me, understand what this coaching staff sees in Brandon Tate.

get boyd in the slot as often as possible. That's what we'll be saying all season. when the Bengals don't do it.

The last two seasons were fueled by fast starts..... I have a feeling this year is going to be more like 2012 - Inexperience in key positions and injuries to key guys could lead to a slow start. But if you look at the schedule, if they keep their heads above water (3-3 through the first six), they could go on a major run if guys get back to health and new guys step up.

LaFell starting tonight is a good sign.

Not having GlassEiffert or Kroft is still going to hurt badly

There is absolutely no reason that Cedric Peerman needs to play offense in preseason. He's never going to be a running back in this league. He is however incredibly valuable to our special teams..... And now he's probably going to the IR, when two rookies could have been playing instead. Stupid.

AJ is fine. Just banged knees on that in and out.

I'm sure Adam Jones will be okay for the opener. But we can't afford many more injuries.

Sucks to see Peerman go down. His season is likely over. Crushing blow to the special teams unit. Not sure why they ever let him carry the rock when his only value to the team is as a special teamer.

On a side note: Alex Erickson is a playmaker. He absolutely deserves to take Brandon Tate's spot as the return man and backup WR. I honestly don't know how the coaches can watch this kid make plays everytime he's on the field, then look him in the eye when they cut him to keep Tate.

Bengals coaching staff is trying to make a pattern to be used in a future Farmers Insurance commercial. "It's what they do"

Jones is fine, as is AJ. Peerman injury stinks, but to say he shouldn't even be carrying the ball is silly. He's the 3rd listed RB, and in case of an injury to a starter, he's a play away from getting some snaps in real games. He needed reps carrying the ball. Time for one of these other guys to step up, and fill in.

All is fine, my chicken littles....the sky is not yet falling.

With Peerman out, the coaches can tear the fake punt page out of the playbook

I disagree. Burkhead would clearly be the third back and if we started losing guys to injury other backs would be signed. The only carries Peerman would ever see in a regular game would be in week 17. He doesn't need reps in August so he can be ready for spot duty in December.

And where did I say the sky was falling? I don't expect Peerman's injury to cost us the playoffs, but I'm tired of people thinking he doesn't matter to the special teams. There is a reason why we are now good on coverage teams and it's because we value guys that do the job well. Peerman was a pro-bowl special teamer.... That's not easy to replace and it does matter.

he was a nice guy to have in the locker-room and on special teams.

he wasn't irreplaceable.

Bengals are doing just as good as any team in the preseason. injuries happen.
don't worry, CAYENNE PEPPA has plenty of targets.
