Martinez isn't missing many bats, is he?

He's been throwing pitches all over the place, they've got a few hits but mostly just bad command

Nick needs a quick inning so he can at least get through 6.

If he would've been in a ranger uniform that would've gone straight to the second baseman.

Here we go again. A starter isn't going to get past the 5th inning and thus, our BP is gonna have to do the heavy lifting.

Not optimistic.

And now we'll give up the lead and never get it back.

And if we do get it back, our bullpen will promptly return it in kind.

There were many times during that period where the "forecast" realistically was much more than 2 years. In fact our first pennant race come out of the blue thanks to Billy Martin. It wasn't a result of any kind of forecast at all. Many other times we didn't have the kind of farm we needed to expect anything in 4 years much less 2 years. We do have the the farm now to expect something in the near future(2017 or 2018).

You are wrong about DT's response being able to be inserted by any fan on any team. Not realistically anyway. Even most of those teams who are two years away don't have the talent quantity that we have currently.

There are reinforcements on the way and very capable ones at that. I have been following this team since they got here and I have never seen anything close to the offensive talent that we have within a year or so of arriving. We have had several times where we have had one good hitter to look forward to and sometimes even 2, but this situation we have now is much better than ever before.
certainly not 72/73 but I can remember 74 with Billy having them pretty darn close. Folks were excited about the coming years. They won 94 games n 77 with 3 different managers. Won 87 games in 1978 and people were excited with a young Steve Comer & Len Barker. The farm back in the day produced a few in Sunny, & Hargrove. They had high hopes for the Kevin Browns, Guzmans, Bobby Witts and Correa. It's not like Texas didn't have the prospects. High end prospects many times are just that. Ruben Mateo was a can't miss. All kinda reasons and that's the way baseball go....IMO
