De Le Puente hurt. Shit.

That would be a big hit to our O-line depth.

Not making excuses for anyone- but defending this type of offense that is going no huddle is tough for a first preseason game.
Let's just not see any more sacks/penalties. OR injuries.

Agreed. They looked a tad lost the first few plays, but got it together after the timeout.

It looks to me is Jordan is trying to play VERY safe. short passes, dump offs... almost predetermined.

Which is strange, because the report was that he was struggling to check down when he had to in camp.

I think that first INT may have gotten into his head.

he's missed a few reads already- looking for the under stuff. That Crosser to the WR was open and he went to Miller.

AND now a down field throw. NIce!

Miller looks great, and not just against the backups. Was good with the first team too. I know it's pre-season, but good to see Rosario and Miller giving us some depth at TE.

Sick of Weems. He came here as this hyped up return man, and all he's done is get tackled softly inside of the twenty freaking yard line. Like honestly… has this guy ever done anything besides run straight forward straight into the coverage? This is his third year… I've seen enough. He stinks.

Let's see Chris Williams.

I'm also excited to watch Clausen in the second half.

Can't disagree with anything there... Miller didn't even play last year, looks really good tonight.

first team O looked in rhythm on that second drive. (I couldn't see the first one, fuckin FOX) Jay looked great.
Chris Williams and a Pat O'Donnell punt- I want to key on Ego 95 and Sutton 93 see what they can do.

LB's still look slow and guessing for most of the first half. Shea is on roller skates. Haven't heard much of anything from DJ Williams- did he even play?

Pretty cool to see Miller playing so well. He played college ball here at Nebraska-Omaha (option QB).

Didn't see a whole lot of the starting D due to the bad picture. Saw the one scoring drive for the starting offense. Disappointed in the run game and special teams in general.

Brian De Le Puente… reportedly out for the season.

That really kills our O-line depth. He was very solid starter in NO.

blah blah blah blah blah blah...Brian de la Puente out for the season....blah blah blah blah.

I hate preseason games. Hate them. They tell fans virtually nothing in reality, and the only thing of real substance that happens is guys get hurt. Goddamn it, I hate this fucking shit. The NFL will never go to zero preseason games because of the money but damn it would really help the league.

+1,000,000

I went on this same rant on another forum yesterday.

In reality, two pre-season games would work. Have the starters play a half in one of them. Your guys competing for jobs and rookies play the other game and a half.

I think it's good to get at least SOME game action in. I mean, a lot of dumb mistakes by the D at the beginning of this game. Which happens in a lot of the first preseason games. Working the kinks out isn't bad, but I agree. One or two would be good… four is just WAY too much.

It's bull shit.

Clausen just took the lead in the backup QB job battle. IMO

Jimmy Clausen is looking like the better #2 option today. Granted it's late in a first preseason game. But he seems to have a better command of the offense then I saw when I was in camp. All is relative. Not bad Clausen, not bad at all.
