How in the hell did Rease think he could compete with IMG?

Look at all the money WVU has lost from the past when the "good ole boy" network was alive and thriving at WVU.

Thank God we got Luck here. Under the old guard we would be stuck in the AAC , and still in bed with Rease getting rich off the University. There is a higher power looking out for our state.

Raese had partnered with some other online network that had a paywall. Tunein has no paywall. MSN is going to have programming 24/7!! In just the second year of the deal with IMG I am starting to be impressed. I still wish the radio network was better, but having the deal with Tunein is going to be huge in cutting the coverage gaps.

Tunein is pretty cool! I was trying to find a way to listen to a Reds game not too long ago and stumbled onto it. And the best part is...its FREE!

If you use it on your iPhone, does it eat up data?

Last year, I listened to games on the phone by calling the number IMG provided.

Not 100% sure but I believe it does. I listen to iHeart radio and it uses my data. If you have access to wifi, connect to it to conserve your data.

It'll use data, the question is how much. Not a big deal if you have wifi available.

I did some searching and the amount of bandwidth they use will be dependent on the bitrate of the transmission. Once we know that we can figure it out with the calculator I'm linking to below. MSN isn't broadcasting yet, but I guess Tunein offers multiple bitrates on their stations. So how much data will depend on which quality you choose.

I use TuneIn often. It'll use a fair amount of data if used often, so when you can, use the Wi-Fi feature.


However...


For the WVU games.... You have enough data on your plan if that's what you use your data on. I love it. Radio doesn't use too much data. The streaming video is where you can get hurt.

Found out that it's a 128kbps stream. That means it'll use about 0.05 GB per hour, so 0.15 GB for a three hour game. Not hard on data at all!
