lol... you seem like a pretty decent dude, @bksballer89 ... but your attitude here is both old school (perhaps to a fault) and totally out-of-step with real world considerations in a modern business/corporate environment.

Lol im just against him never working again in the nba. No way he can work with boston again but the entire league? Nah i am not with it

He might get another shot but it’s just going to be weird. In any large business you got people in VP positions that got there because of a variety of reasons, some totally unrelated to the good of the company. There are certain people you don’t cross, doesn’t matter who you are.

Fair enough. You are, of course, entitled to your opinion.

Personally, I wouldn't say it's a 100% certainty that Udoka never becomes a head coach in the NBA again... but I'm more pessimistic about it than you are.

Why? Because these NBA owners / top executives are a very exclusive club that all know each other. They're their own bubble. And within that bubble, I imagine there are unwritten rules that are pretty important... such as no sleeping with the wives.

(That's why I included that mafia-movie quote a few posts ago... I think it's a pretty good comparison)

Udoka apparently did what you simply can not do. This is even apart from the legal liability that he exposed the Celtics to... which is another huge no-no.

Therefore... he's toast in Boston, and I wouldn't be surprised if this affair has torpedoed his head coaching aspirations elsewhere, too.

Maybe one day he'll get another opportunity "further down the troth"... ( another Casino quote :D )... that's more possible, IMO.

If he gets even a meeting it’s going to be “a few miles down the road”.

I think my issue is how it’s being misreported as if it was a direct report when it clearly isn’t

I’m fine with the Celtics having this rule for operational reasons

I dislike that there’s any other reason they’d need to be risky, but I’ve already covered that and most of you need a civics class to understand it

Of course it would be weird and if/when a team hires him (likely as an assistant at first), they and he will be asked questions, they will give canned/scripted responses and everyone will move. The same will happen again if/when he becomes a head coach again.
