Good point. What we have learned is that this thread is intended for complete mischaracterizations, sweeping generalizations, wishful thinking, and circle jerking. Lots of circle jerking.

Hey now, I may look dumber than fuck but I am already a thru-hiker. Finished my hike after 6.5 months in 2013.

My trip back next week is to provide "trail magic" to the 2015 class.

Awesome...did you do one of those trail journals? I don't see how people keep those things updated, but I love to read some on occasion.

I've only done section hikes in about 6 states. I'm going to wind up one of those retiree-hikers if I live long enough. You tried the PCT or CDT? I hear those are way tougher in terms of water and re-supply.
