If we lose Tate, who are viable replacements?

I really like Steve Smith for a 1 year. If he can stay healthy and get back to form IMO he's an upgrade to Tate (at least for this year).

That is a good call. I wonder how much Mr. Smith would require to sign a 1 year deal with Seattle Seattle?

We are $17M under the 2014 cap.

I also like Steve Smith if we can get him on a cheap one year deal (1 year maybe 4-5 mil?). You know he has a chip on his shoulder after being disrespected by the panthers and what better way to do it then to join the defending Superbowl champions

Plus his toughness and veteran presence would be a nice add to the locker room.

I'd be shocked if Evans dropped that far. Most have him going somewhere around 12-20th in the 1st.

Yeah there's no way Mike Evans drops that far. I think Jordan Matthews is just as good. He's 6'3 and ran a 4.46. Same 40 time as Evans just 2 inches shorter. Also Matthews has huge hands (10 3/8 inches) whereas Mike Evan's hands are 9 5/8 inches.

Matthews also did more reps (21 reps vs 12 reps for Evans). I think that's slightly concerning for a guy that's 6'5 231 pounds. Matthews is 6'3 and 212 and did 21 reps. Matthews also had a better cone time and 20 yd shuttle time as well.

I like Steve Smith as much as the next guy but we already have Harvin and him and Smith are cut out of the same mold as far as playing style goes. We need someone taller that can go up for the ball with good hands. At this point, depending on his health, it wouldn't surprise me if we bring Rice back at a much lower salary.

If for some reason there isn't much interest in the market for Hakeem Nicks and he becomes an option for Seattle.....what would be a fair dollar amount you would be willing to pay for Nicks?

Also others mentioned Miles Austin

...at first I was like no way...but rethinking it I don't think that's too bad of an idea. Surprisingly Austin is only 29 years old. And for some reason I thought he was like 5'11 or only 6'0...he's 6'2 216!

If healthy this would be a great veteran signing. I like this more than Steve Smith considering Austin's size

I like Martavis Bryant at the WR spot. We also need to draft some OL help. Definitely need to go OL/WR first several picks.

Too much risk bringing Rice back with the amount of injuries he's had lately. I'd like to go the Miles Austin route and use the 32nd pick to draft best available WR.

With the success we've been having with receivers drafted in the later rounds and picked up as undrafted free agents, I wouldn't necessarily look for us to draft one early. Then again, it's impossible to predict what the Hawks are gonna do, so maybe they will draft a receiver early.

Honestly, I don't see Seattle drafting a WR at all even with their unpredictable methods. I believe they think Lockette with 2 years under Carroll is ready to take the 4 spot behind Baldwin (assuming Seattle matches any offer made), Kearse, and Harvin and I believe we'll be fine at the 5-6 spot. That's a nice speed upgrade from Tate. If Rice returns for the right price, then so be it, but they need to focus on the O-line depth first and foremost. Receiver I have no concerns about at all.

I wouldn't touch Smith with a 10-foot pole. Obviously he's a good player, but he's a hothead and with the way some of our guys like to talk smack, it could become a volatile situation really quick. Let him be someone else's problem.

I just started a thread based on this, but what about the guy who should have been there all along, Sidney Rice? (Sorry for spelling his name wrong on the other title. Can't change those and I'm 2/3 of a growler of 12% IPA in tonight)

Very fast and elusive Harvin on one side and tall and lanky Rice on the other. I'll take that if Rice is willing to stay on a cheaper contract.
