Hope we keep him, but Griffin has no one to blame but himself. Kyle built and designed an entirely new offense that took the league by storm. The 49ers and Seahawks used it a lot on their way to 3 consecutive Super Bowl trips.

Because of this offense Griffin got the big head after a masterpiece of a rookie season in large part to Kyle, his own athletic ability, and a great deep ball.

So RG decides he is Peyton Manning and is not going to run the read option anymore. He fails horribly at running Shanahan's traditional West Coast offense and then turns around and blames the Shanahan's for his struggles. Shanahan gets fired and he has now been benched again by another coach who has had offensive success elsewhere.

Griffin is my dude but he needs to check himself.

That's kinda the irony in this. When he was ripping up the league, his detractors were saying long term he needs to run less and be more of a pocket qb. That's exactly what rg3 tried to do and now it's his downfall. The injuries never let him catch up and develop and his attitude didn't help. Then it just snowballed from there. Sad we got to this point so quickly.

Hang in there. The team will get there relatively soon. It may not be this season, but I see a good chance of a turnaround in the next few years. That quite possibly may be the reason why it might be good to let RG3 go - just to not have this thing hanging over their head on a regular basis. Who cares if he does well for another team - sometimes players need a change in surroundings.

If/when this thing is turned around it will be very sweet. The media is now at the pt where they almost want to make Redskins fans feel guilty. They look for every bad thing possible, don't point out even one good thing & like to quite often associate it with all of the name change crap. Give this some time & things may not be so bad. HTTR.
