Who do you think would be more likely to trade to get him and this is reality not what you want to happen

There's a chance we'd actually use the #5 pick to select someone like a Shane Ray. But McCloughan has always expressed his preference for maximizing draft picks. And with a team like ours that needs a huge influx of talent, trading down to parlay more picks for to fill an assortment of holes on our 53-man squad would definitely be in order.

The two most obvious trade partners in a Mariota scenario would be Philadelphia and Cleveland. As for Cleveland, rumors have swirled about how the new brass there is already to move on from Manziel. While there's a lot of tabloid-esque flair about all that talk from Browns Nation, the chances they'd cut bait on Manziel isn't as high as it seems to be. Of course, if they do decide to trade up, we'd want both of their first rounders (#12 and #19). In order to make this work via the draft point chart, we would have to part with our third and fourth rounders. But we can leverage Cleveland's desperation by retaining one of those two picks to seal the deal. If that happens, we can get Danny Shelton at #12, Marcus Peters at #19, and someone like Andrus Peat with our second rounder. Note that Philly covets Peters with their first rounder, which falls right after the 19th pick overall. If they really want him, perhaps we could make a deal with them to swap spots.

If Philly is our trade partner, and that may very well happen if Mariota falls to #5, they would have to come with a king's ransom to trade 15 spots up to #5 overall. This would probably involve something like giving us their first rounder, second rounder and their first next year. Or, instead of the first next year, we could pry a player for them. While I'm not sure who Philly would part with, my wish list would be someone like Jason Kelce, Lane Johnson or Fletcher Cox. All of these guys are young, and they are very, very talented. If we somehow landed Kelce, signed Iupati, and drafted Andrus Peat, our o-line would be Trent, Lauvao (or Spencer Long), Kelce, Iupati, and Peat. Not. Too. Bad.

But this, of course, is all (wild) speculation. At least for now. I'm more willing to believe the Kelly fan-boy stuff for Mariota than the rumors that the Browns are willing to give up on Manziel after his rookie year. However, stranger things have happened. And there's plenty of time between now and draft day or Manziel to keep screwing up.
