This is what bothers me about the new hire. Perlman indicated Tom and boosters would be part of the new hire process at Toms retirement presser. It sounds like they weren't. Perlman was quoted that this hire would be "easier" because of no preconceived notions about who he should hire this time.

Almost like he was saying Pederson was not "his choice" the last time around. In that regard, maybe Perlmans ass is in the wind with this hire.
