Which is fair, but we’ve also heard several players say he was the best RH hitter in his generation so who knows. I am bias but I do think it’d be dumb if a player holds that against him. It is a position in the game so why wouldn’t it count?
I agree totally, but they may have a different take on it. I think it is even harder to hit as a DH. I know physically he it is more taxing to play the field but mentally it is way harder to sit and only hit every 30-45 minutes. Players hate it.

I didn’t hear his comments on Edgar, but then what are his feelings on closers let alone pitchers in general?

To me be DH would be harder but I think it’s probably individual. But nowadays where they only want you to hit HRs and strikeout it may be easier to be ok with being a .200 hitter

I didn't ask him about pitchers just Edgar specifically. This was around 2013-14. He respected Edgar as a hitter, but not enough games playing in the field was his issue.

I would get that if Edgar didn’t get hurt. Seems like a player would respect a guy who Kyle Lewis before Kyle Lewis. But I know I bias but I think a guy like Edgar deserves to be in before closers.

It's been fun looking at all the clips y'all have posted about ichiro.

i always thought I could detect the hint of a smirk in his face in every post game interview he ever did with his translator. You could just tell he knew what reporters were asking and could've answered in English just fine. but why when you can just blame a bad quote on the translator lol.

Nailed it. Plus, if there was a gambling scandal he had an out...

No, he always knew more than he let on. Smart man. I am glad you like the videos. I enjoyed them so was hoping others might as well. We tend to forget how well we had it with him and Jr. I guess that is what makes watching the current group of hitters so painful to watch. We were spoiled.
