Which is fair, but we’ve also heard several players say he was the best RH hitter in his generation so who knows. I am bias but I do think it’d be dumb if a player holds that against him. It is a position in the game so why wouldn’t it count?
I agree totally, but they may have a different take on it. I think it is even harder to hit as a DH. I know physically he it is more taxing to play the field but mentally it is way harder to sit and only hit every 30-45 minutes. Players hate it.

I didn’t hear his comments on Edgar, but then what are his feelings on closers let alone pitchers in general?

To me be DH would be harder but I think it’s probably individual. But nowadays where they only want you to hit HRs and strikeout it may be easier to be ok with being a .200 hitter

I didn't ask him about pitchers just Edgar specifically. This was around 2013-14. He respected Edgar as a hitter, but not enough games playing in the field was his issue.
