I wonder how the doctor presented the news to Ian:

Doctor: Ian, you have a mild concussion.
Lappy: No problem, Doc, I've have plenty of those in my career.
Doctor: You also have a contusion of the brain
Lappy: Is it a mild contusion?

All joking aside, get well soon Lappy, true warrior on the ice.

Is this from the slap shot to the face he took?

That sounds a bit scary, brain contusion. The next day after the injury he was already raring to get back on the ice.

I agree, the Flyers are going to miss a character guy like Lappy

They can't start feeling sorry for themselves, though. Losing Gagne, Carter, and Lappy is tough, but it's time to put those excuses in the rearview.

hey, the only thing that matters is that they still have Pronger

I <3 Chris Pronger!

A true disappointment losing Lappy. Our PK just won't be the same at all. And no, I don't think Lava's dumb enough to put Cote out there. Expect Powe on the PK more with Betts.

The Flyers were trying out Kalinksi and Maroon in practice today. Powe is capable, but they should just throw Hartnell out there; chances are a puck would get cought in his mop.

Actually, Hartnell is NOT a bad idea. He's on the ice half the time anyway. If he can just land 2 feet in front of slapshots...they'll be fine.

As mentioned, it'll probably be Powe on the PK with Betts. He keeps an active stick and can hound guys pretty well.

There's no way Cote gets the nod. If anyone, it'll probably be Kalinski.

Edit: How the Hartnell be on the PK when he's going to be the gut that's in the box most of the time?

Umm.....

A concussion IS a contusion on the brain. This has to be one serious ass concussion, like a Grade 3. There may be some bleeding....

I wish him the very best and think that this, along with his history of concussions is a good sign that it is time to hang up the skates. I saw a special on him and his beautiful family one time, and I do not want to see a Mike Webster or Chris Benoit story go down. Concussions have a lot of long term effects.

I actually had that once. I got hit with a piece of steel.

(Yes, by accident dare)

It's basically a bruise that goes away slowly over time. I don't know bout Lappy, but mine didn't cause headaches, nausea or anything. Only after a precautionary scan did they see it.

I went to work the next day.

yea laperierre is done for the year. i doubt the flyers will mix up the lines a lot though. i think we might see maroon instead of laliberte though. i think laliberte only played because he had experience before and i think he knows the system. laviolette used giroux and briere on the richards line as well as laliberte. he basically used briere and giroux on 2 lines because they were centering their lines also.

i would say the lines will be this.

carcillo-richards-laliberte/maroon (also using briere and giroux on this line)

Actually in the first round I think he only took 1 penalty...and it was coincidental. So he did he job and took the Devil with him.

Yeah, for all the people that have made Hartnell-bashing the "it" thing to do (me included,) he really played a good series and abstained from the dumb penalties that drive us nuts...and he will be fine on the PK, IMO

EDIT: Epic Sig, btw

he had like 1 assist and that makes him good? he needs to step it up. he did play on the pk while stevens was coach so hopefully he can do that right.

I always hate looking at stats to see how well a guy played, sometimes the pucks just don't go into the net, of what I saw from him in the series he seemed like he wasn't out of position the way he was during the season, which was a big killing point for me on him
