Well we have guys all over the board. Draft stinks, first 2 are good but the rest reach, where is the CB help, LB help, QB but wrong one, wrong WR. I'm not in the room when the Rams pick, don't know what they know, and what direction they are going. Do know though is the OL was not all that good. It looks to me that Snead and Fisher wanted to find 2 guys that are good and for a while. We haven't had the best luck with picking OL ya know and that doesn't include Robinson. We will see if these guys work out because if they do the games got a lot shorter and the Rams will be on the win side more.

LB help came in the form of Ayers in FA, Barron via trade last season (for the big nickel) and Hager for depth/special teams. They can go there again earlier next draft if these OL hit.

CB would've been a good pick, but not urgent yet. I doubt they lose both Jenkins and Johnson, and Gaines can step in for the other. Joyner can be the slot corner (or free safety?).

IMO anyone other than the top 2 QBs is probably the wrong one anyway. They picked the one they wanted after Grayson was picked, and maybe they have to go back to the well next draft. A lot depends on Foles and if they invest to keep him.

Right now, I would guess QB, LB, CB, DE, and WR will be the targets in next year's draft/FA (not necessarily in that order).

I think the Rams are betting on Jenkins or Johnson to have a good year - obviously.. Then sign one of them. We can only hope at this point that these OT's drafted in the 3rd and 4th round don't turn into Rok Watkins.

Even Rok was looking like a solid pick initially, but ultimately flaked out.

St. Louis Rams: D+ Grade
Goals Entering the 2015 NFL Draft: The Rams replaced their injury-prone quarterback with another one who gets hurt often (but not nearly as much). They absolutely need to make sure their offensive line is upgraded so that Nick Foles remains healthy. Various positions can be addressed as well, but the offensive line is key.

2015 NFL Draft Accomplishments: I'm convinced that the Rams' front office was caught in a time vortex on Day 2 and believed that they were drafting in the seventh round. That's the only explanation I have for the second-day selections they made. Everyone wants to talk about the Todd Gurley pick, but the wasted opportunities in Rounds 2-3 is the story of the Rams' draft.

Rob Havenstein was a late-round prospect. Jamon Brown was possible UDFA fodder. The Rams did look at big positions of need when selecting those two players, but they reached egregiously. I guess they were asleep during Senior Bowl practices when Havenstein was abused against almost every pass-rusher he went up against. And yet, he's still better than Brown!

The Rams wasted many other choices as well. Sean Mannion won't be anything more than a backup. Andrew Donnal was just OK. The Bud Sasser choice could have been better. Bryce Hager was a nice pick-up in the middle of the seventh round, but that was too little, too late.

I liked that St. Louis selected Gurley - one team called him "the next Jim Brown," so he'll have a huge impact on the offense when he gets healthy - but he won't be enough to offset all of the other poor selections the front office was guilty of.

Of course, Kiper gave us his second worst grade too.

Of course these guys that judge everything by their own rankings are going to hate the Rams' picks. I think the Rams were a little snake-bit by losing out on guys trying to wait for value in past drafts and decided to take the OL they were targeting when they were on the clock, instead of waiting or trading down (other than Havenstein, for whom they did trade down). If they had been bolder, they may have been able to wait a round on each of the linemen they drafted.

that is always the gamble Shop

and as you stated, they have been snake bit before thinking a player was going to fall to them after trading down only to have another team draft that player. it's the reason we have Pead instead of Wagner. who knows how many others there have been.

I think they just played it safe and decided not to get cute with the draft and took who they wanted regardless. we will see if that strategy pays off or not.

Not sexy enough for the experts. We have had decent draft grades in the past and most of those highly rated players we picked are long gone. I am sure kipper liked Petis and Salas. They really turned out great for us.

As Vince Tobin said during the 1989 draft about Mel Kipper: "Who in the hell is Mel Kiper anyways?!"

These talking heads think the Rams reached, but seem to ignore the reaches by the Rams' division foes (Frank Clark in the 2nd? Poole in the 4th? Armstead looks like a bust to me. Tartt at least a round early, etc.).

Rams hit value in the first, then went after targets for a run-heavy OL thereafter. It appeared to me that they were ready to pick to DGB in the second, but traded down after the Titans picked him just ahead of the Rams. There are reports that the Rams tried to trade up for the Jags 2nd rounder as well; offering a second and Stacy. Sure appears DGB was their target in the second. When that fell through, they traded down deep into the 2nd to take their potential 3rd round target.

In the DGB mold, the Rams signed UDFA Isiah Ferguson, WR, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, 6'6 with a 4.47 40 at his pro day. Hasn't been used a lot as a collegiate player, interesting to see if he has anything in camp.

Did u watch Gruden dissect Kiper in Qb Camp on his draft picks? That was Hilarious..So many he had high grades on and Gruden schooled him. Kipers a joke. He gets credit for years of service but that's it. When our refrigerators with legs start mauling people and Gurleys going to work the bandwagon will say they called it.

I don't think anyone has a problem with the pick of Gurley in the first round(however, first we take an openly gay player last year and now we take a guy named Gurley? highly suspicious) Just kidding of course lol...

Our RAMS never gets any love from sports analyzers, especially ESPN commentators. It all about Dallas, New England and maybe the Whiners!
Same with my Cardinals. Even when they made the playoffs, the ESPN team didn't talk about them much. Same with my Broncos until they got good.

They aren't major markets. Basically, unless ESPN can make big money off of it, they aren't going to push it.

Rams Upser - Caught the tail end of the Gruden piece with Kiper when Gruden was explaining the players he would want in the draft. It was very informative and made me wish I saw the show from the beginning!

Gruden is usually pretty darn close to the reality of a given player. He was one of the few guys who stated that Tebow would not be a QB in the NFL until he fixed his throwing mechanics and improved his footwork. Tebow finally did that and Kelly signed him.
