Players mature, get better & with a all new coaching staff, do you think they may have improved in a years time? A&M didn't start the season too well, but they have been improving every week. I can't understand why you can't concede that possibility.....

I'm not saying they haven't gotten better. I'm just saying going from 5 wins to 10 is a hell of a jump and I balk at the ridiculously stupid notion that they would run the tables in the big 12 just because they've got 10 wins in the SEC this year when they've essentially been doormats for the most part.

No. Just calling out obvious bs. The fact you SEC'ers (don't know if you specifically said this) would say something so stupid shows just how much of a circle jerk the SEC is.

What part of that is me being mad?

Your argument has been that the SEC is weak, not that A&M wouldn't run through the big12. The "A&M would kill the Big12" crap only came up when you and MarkOU and the other Big12'ers were trying to say that A&M doing will is proof that the SEC is weaker than the Big12.

your constant screaming about how weak the SEC is because of A&M's record this year, across multiple threads is the part where you show you're mad.

Ah we were just trying to rustle some jimmies. I still don't believe if a&M were in the big 12 they'd have 10 wins this year. The big 12 is much more balanced than the SEC and is stronger top to bottom than the SEC.

OU fans, how about Mizzou? 8-5 in Big12. Returned most their team and was suppose to be stronger this year, however, they have only won 2 SEC games.

TN cannot even win a game in the SEC but we still blew out NC State. Auburn, who is beyond awful, nearly beat Clemson.

They've had the chance for how many years now? Now they're in the mighty SEC for one year and rack up 10 wins including your beloved bama and suddenly they've improved so much they'd run the big12???? Do you even read that shit after you type it?

Hey guys! Just moving to the SEC means you'd run the tables in every other conference!!!

:pound:

Or maybe bc they have a ridiculous young talented team, a Heisman trophy candidate who is electric, a great new coach, a ridiculous o-line, and an improved defense that is way better from last yr. They also didnt have two of those badass freshmen WRs last yr!

I would give Oklahoma 8 maybe 9 wins in SEC.

Good points......but maybe you should actually LOOK at their schedule first before judging. I'm guessing 80+% of D1 schools would have their same record with the schedule they've played this year.

Yeah but it isnt their record, its how they played te teams they beat. Also how they played top teams, close games. And when u change conferences u have to change your style of play---especially defensively. You are not used to seeing these teams on field, so even if mediocre they play differently. But their system has been perfect for SEC and has put those top teams on their heels. I guess it all depends on how that teams plays that enters a conference compared to opponents, and talent helps!

Yes...but if we are playing the "almost" beat card....we can also play the "almost" lost card right?

Vandy losing to Northwestern
A&M almost losing to LATech
Ole Miss being slaughtered by Texas
Mizzou losing to Syracuse and almost losing to UCF
Mississippi State almost losing to Troy
Tennessee almost losing to Troy
Kentucky only winning 1 game against a D1 opponent(Kent State)
Arkansas losing to ULM, Rutgers, and almost losing to Tulsa
Auburn almost losing to ULM
Florida almost losing to Bowling Green and ULL.
LSU struggling with Towson for about 3 qtrs.

And those are just the non-conference wtfs.

No. The point is they essentially returned the same team they only win 5 games with in the big12 and suddenly they're a ten win team? Sounds like the big12 was tougher on them than the SEC.

we went from 5 wins to 14 in 2 years

The SEC isn't a league that plays spread offenses, has top QBs and WRs......so defensively, it's EASIER for them than the B12.

If they can shut down the other teams running game, they'll have a shot. The opposite is true as well......most of the SEC teams haven't faced their type of offense, so it's harder to stop.

Think about that. EVERYBODY in the Big 12 has a QB that can sling the rock to a ton of top rated WRs........every team puts up points. They come from a league KNOWING they had to outscore teams to a league where teams don't have great offenses.

I'm not saying they don't have talent. I'm saying their schedule makes you think they're better than they really are.

There are a couple big conferences that are down this yr, and in my opinion it seems all of college football is down not in popularity I mean talent wise. And the SEC is more lopsided this year than I have seen in a very long time....and what is the SEC known for, DEFENSE. But this yr, or maybe it is what college football has evolved into, offense dominates highly over in every conference. You still have your great defenses in college football, but its different.

So if there is a time for teams to move to the struggling Big Ten, or SEC this the time. Pple see 6 SEC teams in top 10 but it's confusing bc every team up there has 1 or 2 losses...so pretty much the best of SEC is beating up on each other. Now I still think SEC is dominate in colege football, but they are waiting for someone to beat them, Texas A&M came in and shocked.

When we talk about Oklahoma they could come in and beat 2/3 of SEC conference, but I dont think they could handle the top: Bama, LSU---at a different level...but they could compete w/ Florida, Georgia, Texas A&M, SC. But could they do it every other week if you 3 or 4 of those....we wont know until we see it!

I would generally agree with your assessment and how Oklahoma would probably do this year in the SEC. They'd definitely struggle with bama and LSU given the difficulty they've had stopping a power running game this year. In Oklahoma's better years I think they've been as good as anyone. That national game between Florida and Oklahoma was a great one and I could see Oklahoma rotating in and out of the best of the SEC along with bama, LSU, and Florida.

SEC games vs Michigan, Washington, Rutgers, Texas, Clemson, Arizona ST, Syracuse, North Carolina ST, East Carolina, Louisville, Northwestern

Overall avg Points Scored per game 31.6
Overall avg Points Allowed per game 23.5

Vs SEC avg points scored per game 25.5
Vs SEC avg points allowed per game 28.6

So on average vs SEC those teams have scored 6.1 points less and gave up 5.1 points more, that's a 11.2 point swing in favor of the SEC

The SEC used to have spread offenses...hell, we made that style happen. But we've moved on from that because it can't win anymore in this conference.
