I think the '9ers need a situational pass rusher

Why can't we sign Manning and STILL continue to build? We were, if you recall, one competent PR away from being in the Super Bowl.

That'd be fine too. Either way I think a situational pass rusher would help things.

I'd probably look for an undersized college DE in rounds 4-7. Maybe two (one for the PS) to fill this role.

I like him but I think he's got a far way to go. Too risky to take in the 3rd IMO. His skill set in terms of what I think he will bring to the table is comparible to guys like Bruce Davis (not sure many people remember him as a Bruin), and Aaron Maybin.

Maybin was legit this season. He's way better than Bruce Davis.

Maybin is also clearly a 4-3 guy...

After his combine I don't think there's any way Irvin lasts 'til the 3rd round.

No. I saw 11 and 5 and a first round playoff loss. In my defense I did say that I was rarely wrong not never wrong.
