I like Belmont over Virginia

Very true. UVA has a great defense. That said UVA averaged 61 ppg vs teams ranked similarly to Belmont defensively and UVA is playing worse offensively recently. If Belmont cracks 62 points I put their odds to win at 50 percent. Should be interesting

I definitely think it's a bad draw for Virginia. They're most likely to get beat out of the top 8 just because of the matchup. But I'm still picking uva just because Belmont isn't a good team.

Virginia is one of the best coached teams out there. They don't turn the ball over and are great at blocking out on defense. Should win easily.

Belmont over Arizona was a very popular upset pick a couple years ago. Zona had a good interior defense but was vulnerable to 3-pt shooting teams. Granted, Zona was a much lower seed than VA (6 I think).

Didn't pan out at all, but I guess that doesn't mean there wasn't solid logic behind the thought. Even by rimila's numbers it would be unlikely to happen... just much more likely than the rest of the top 8 teams... and I can buy into that.

the OP isn't too far off. yea it may not happen and they have like a .00001 chance of winning, but these guys can shoot the 3. imagine if they got 15+ 3's, they could do it.

They did it against Murray St. (hit all those 3s) This would be a monumental upset. We didn't think Mercer could beat Duke so any thing could happen. Or even when Lehigh beat them.

I just know there will be a huge upset this tourney, maybe if 2 that no one even got close to expecting.

He had those fingers wrapped in those games, and it really affected his ball handling and shooting. I don't think he scored in either game of the ACC Tournament. You could tell UVA needed his offense, particularly against Carolina. Him returning to form (and I have no idea if he will) gives them extra offensive options that they'll need later in the tourny...but I don't think it'll matter at all against Belmont.
