I know he had a stellar couple years with us, but it's clear he, nor his daddy, want him to be in Denver anymore. Reading all this shite from his Dad makes me wanna puke. STFU you prick. You're surely riding on your kids' paycheck, so I can also see why it's in your best interest for him to go for the money.

I hope he does go to Seattle, so he, Daddy and Pete Carroll can all knob each other.

I am kind of hoping he goes to the jaguars, wade through that pool of crap.

Seahawks could be interesting in that he would play in the physical NFC west 6 times a year. Could he hold up?

I also think J. Thomas will be in for a rude awakening. I doubt any team will pay him the Gronk-Graham money he is looking for.

I'll tell you what....

As soon as he gets that "big money", I'd be willing to bet big dollars he'll end up on the shelf with one hampering injury or another. I'll be curious to see what the length is on the offers he does get. He can't honestly think he's gonna get a 5-6 year deal at $10 mil per.

Definitely don't think the Broncos are going to miss him. JT was basically a big WR, he couldn't block worth crap. We are set at WR with DT, Sanders, and Latimer. We have a solid blocking TE in Virgil Green who can probably be more active in the passing game. I recall last year toward the end of the season a lot of us were screaming at the team to get Green involved in the pass game because him being in the formation signaled a run.

The more I think of it, the more I am glad last year's coaching staff is gone, too. I'm not going to miss the passive game planning, lack of aggression, and predictable play calls. And I don't think the Broncos are going to miss JT at all.

I'm usually not big on bashing a player that is leaving the team but JT has pretty much worn out any kind of welcome in Denver. Or at least his dad has done that for him. I understand sticking up for your kid kind of thing but honestly I do think his dad could be hurting him on the open market as teams are watching this childish behavior and thinking "I want nothing to do with this." Throw in his dad talking about how his son was healthy enough to play but refused to do so to protect himself to make millions. No Championship team wants that kind of crap in their lockerroom. It is why you would see him go to one of the bottom feeders of the NFL that are looking for that big name player to get the fans excited about but will continue to be a bottom feeder because that player will not pan out.

How is it that fans are turning on a guy who said nothing? Everything you all "hate" about him is coming from his (possible) Dad and anonymous media here say. You also ignore the reports that he had torn ligaments in his ankle thus the extra missed time. Wow....way to hop on the slow offseason media bandwagon.

First off welcome to the board. Second off you might find your stay here a little better if you don't come on quite that strong in the beginning. Third if you do a little research it is not just his dad who has said this. Some of these things are directly from his agent talking about the contract negotiations. If an agent is saying pretty much the exact same thing as that of what the father said then good chance the guy wasn't just blowing smoke. Yes we haven't heard it directly from Julius Thomas but like I said agents speak very clearly of what the client is usually wanting. Throw in there have been plenty of articles throughout the last couple of years to the idea that Julius Thomas didn't really get along with but a couple of the players on the team and kept to himself most of the time. Throw in then all the problems with on the field quitting that would lead to Manning and the coaches just chewing him out left and right for not giving his all. So there is more to this than just his father going on some rants (by the way it has been proven to actually be his dad on twitter and on the MileHighReport that has been posting).

Yah....I didn't just wander onto the board and post this on a whim. Anybody who's been following the team on a daily basis, as I usually do, would know that he's all but gone. It's not just the fact that he (through his agent, or what have you) has pretty much painted the picture of a player that is hunting a big deal. It's also that there have been some pretty big rumblings out of Denver that he's not a team player, and doesn't care where he plays as long as he get his money. I can't speak for everybody here, but I surely don't want a player like that on the Broncos team. Thomas may be a nice redzone threat, and he does overall have good hands, but where he lacks in other departments makes it very easy for me to say that he's not worth $8-10 million a year. Not to mention he's already shown durability issues. There has even been speculation that he had been milking his injuries in the few games he missed. I think Manning coming back put the final nail in the coffin as far as Julius coming back.

Strictly from a football sense, it will probably be addition by subtraction. Gotta get Virgil Green signed though....I think he is a perfect fit for Kubiak's system. If Julius does go to the Jags, something tells me we will never hear him saying "This is too easy!" ever again.....lol

I don't have a problem with him going. The Broncos have other contracts to worry about. None of that was really the point. I was taken back by the reaction of fans based on speculation. All you know for sure was that he missed some games with torn ankle ligaments. Get a real source and feel free to fire away. Taking leaps because of pure media speculation and a "Dad" they can't even 100% verify is a bit ridiculous imo.

From a football perspective I agree with Cali. Zone blocking needs a good blocking TE like Green as opposed to a big "WR".

Cdumler. The numerous articles you speak of are all recycled from the same article. Which was written before the torn ligaments report. I also don't, and did not previously, see Frank Bauer ever saying what you are insinuating he said. Please post the link so I can read it. Might change my opinion.....

Not sure I can find the article but essentially he was trying to show that the Broncos tried to give J. Thomas a terrible deal and said that we the fans are the reason he is being pushed out of Denver. First off as a player if fans can get to you that easily that we can upset you with just a few words then I really begin to question the toughness of the player. Next his agent said that his client is seeking to be the highest guaranteed TE in NFL history. That is a great showing that he is going after the money which I honestly have no problem with a player doing but I have read what the Broncos offered him and I thought it was a very fair deal considering he has never had a fully healthy season and his agent has tried to make it sound like the deal was an insult to his client.

Maybe later this week I will have some time to do some digging but all of these things are things I have been hearing about him for the last couple of years not just this off season. From the sound of it one of the main players that D. Thomas was talking about after the playoff loss to Indy about some players not giving their all was that of J. Thomas. Some of the players have not been all that happen about his commitment to the team.

All media hearsay and those "quotes" by the agent are not correct. This is just like all the articles written about how Manning would never take a pay cut because he's all about the money. The media has nothing to do but stir the pot in the offseason. The only truth, which negates all the bs, was that JT has torn ligaments in his ankle. That debunks the 90% fiction and pretty much the rest of the original article that everyone piggy-backed.

That being said, I'm fine with him going to another team. I don't think he's anything more than a luxury for an already explosive offense that needs more blocking help. He's not a great fit overall.

Well we will just have to agree to disagree I guess on this issue. While yes not everything the media throws out is true it does seem that this story has had some smoke brewing for a while and usually when there is smoke there is fire. Anyway the whole thing is moot whether I like him or not as he is gone. He was a great player at times for us and has the potential to be a great player in this league for many years. I don't blame him for chasing the money one bit as his ankle issues make me believe this could be his last big contract of his career so kudos to him for getting the money while he could for himself and his family. I wish him well in Jacksonville if that is where he ends up.
