Ok, I can't sleep, I have to "get up" for work in less than 4 hours, I got home about an hour and a half ago from Dallas, and I am not happy so I have to vent.
The weird thing is that I am not venting about the game and our shitty "offensive" coordinator. I am venting about my ride home. I know most of you don't give a shit but my wife is asleep and I think I need to get this out so I am capable of getting some sleep so this is my only outlet.
First things first, this trip was completely free for me with the exception of my food. My mom's cousins were kind enough to give me a free ticket and free hotel with them so I didn't really feel right to tell them what to do and didn't want to sound ungrateful. For some reason they felt the need to go to church at 11am before we left for Omaha. Why we couldn't do that earlier or take the week off from mass is beyond me considering our LONG drive home in front of us. We get on the road back at 12:30pm. We also had 3 kids with us. One was a freshman in high school, one was in grade school (both were relatives), and the other was also a freshman and the friend of the freshman relative. This freshman that was a relative was the most annoying, ungrateful, disrespectful, impatient, selfish little pricks I have ever been around. Everytime this little pecker opened his mouth I gritted my teeth and squeezed something like it was fingernails on a chalkboard. "Hey dad", "dad what did you say", "open the windows it is hot back here", blah blah blah NON FUCKING STOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If dad was talking to someone else he would repeat whatever he was saying to his dad like he was a 4 year old until his dad acknowledged him. I can't even count the amount of times we stopped on the way home. Again, I didn't think it was my place to grab this kid by the throat and hang him out the window until he froze and shut the hell up. The other 2 kids were great and barely heard a peep out of them. We turned a 10 hour drive into a 12 hour drive that felt like a 20 hour drive and it didn't start until after noon. Just a horrible end to a fun but disappointing trip.
Sorry for the completely off topic rant but I needed to get it off my chest so I could get to sleep and this is the only place that I could speak my mind without my family seeing it.
