Involving two top 3 guys

Adrian Peterson- Why are people down on him? i mean i guess at 3 isnt down on him, but hes semi-overlooked.....also with norv in town now do you expect AP to be more involved in the passing game..??

Mccoy- Are you concerned about sproles getting involved, especially in the passing game limiting some of mccoys touches? What about chris polk? possibly goal line work??

Peterson is getting long in the tooth. Nobody runs like that forever

I have no concerns on McCoy..Sproles is nothing more than a "give him a breather" back in this instance. And in an offense whose stated goal is to run more plays than the other guys, even playing 2 of every three drives will get him enough touches to be worth the pick.

Peterson? The age, the way last season went, the uncertainty at QB... it's amazing he's still at 3.

Age, injury, & a shitty team what is driving him back to 3-4 position in drafts. Plus both McCoy & Charles are in better situations to out perform him.

I have Peterson at 1. (might swap Forte there actually, but for now it's AP)

Shady is probably the best pure running back since Barry Sanders. Sproles won't effect his production and Polk is injury insurance back up stuff.

People have been worried about AP for a few seasons now and he's consistently been proving them wrong; eventually he'll start to decline but he's one of the few that I'll stay on board with until he proves he's declining

I like McCoy as #1 overall, not worried about Sproles

I have the #3 pick in my league and figure Charles and McCoy will be gone. It's almost as if I am stuck with Peterson so, I am weighing him agaist Lacy and Forte before I make my final decision.

My only concern with Peterson is that he is getting up there in age and his past injuries have to come into play sooner or later.

I don't think we should be scared of AP's age or health. It's just hard running against 8 in the box. I find he was somewhat dependant on the big play last year. Forte is the horse on a high octane offense that defenses cannot stack the box against.

Then I took a peak at schedule and am now just kind of stuck on Forte.

The Norv Turner effect should help, but I think Bridgewater will need a year...and Cassel isn't keeping both Safeties back.

I'm in the same situation and share your concern, but I still think he has at least one more stud season in him. That said, I'm taking a long hard look at Forte.

I really like Montee Ball, but try as I may, I can't justify taking him in the 3 hole. And man, I really really want to...

I am more worried about Charles, no way the Chiefs repeat what they did last year, I can see them taking a pretty big step back. AD is still gold and I believe he has at least one great season left in him. No worries about McCoy either he won't lose anything to Sproles.

If I had to rank them 1-3 it would be 1. McCoy 2. AD 3. Charles

Unfortunately the Chiefs kinda have to repeat what they did last year - at least as far as Charles is concerned. There's nobody else on that offense. Reid has no choice. The only question is how long Charles can hold up, and whether Knile can step up to shoulder some of the load. Even if Charles gives up 40 carries and only has 12 total TDs instead of 19, he's still probably a top-three back.

As far as All Day, he'll probably be All Decade. I think he's thinking about Emmitt and Walter Payton. He'll probably be a top-10 RB every year - but that doesn't mean he has to be drafted top-3 in fantasy every year.

Steelers,

AP - what worries me about AP is the serious nature of his injuries coupled with his age (29). I'll give him this, he's not your typical RB, and with Norv calling the shots, I can see him putting up some Tomlinson-type numbers this season.

McCoy - no worries here at all. Even without Sproles, McCoy got 79% of the carries. (Bryce had 19% and Polk had 3%.) And even on the Saints, Sproles was only 15% of the RB usage (which was less than Pierre, Khiry & Ingram). However, as a pass-catching RB, Sproles was 44% when compared to his RB counterparts. (And in case you're wondering, McCoy caught 78% of passes thrown to the Philly RB.)

I have a question about a RB...

I keep hearing Jamaal Charles will be a big one to pick up. I am a fan of him and think he is a great player, but doesn't the Chiefs have a difficult schedule? How much would that affect him?

Iowa, I personally do not put a lot of stock in schedules. For instance, the Chiefs were one of the worst teams of 2012, yet look what Charles did last year with Andy Reid. I expect much of the same with a 2nd year under Reid.

I'll trot this out again - it's a graphic that shows how many pts each defense allows to RBs, year by year.

Point being - don't sweat a RB based on their schedule, cuz those Ds will be all over the place this year.
