I hate Versus

Thanks, I will think what I want, that an average NHL fan would know Versus shows games on Monday and Tuesday nights and would not expect a game on Thursday to be on the network. Anyone expecting a Thursday night game is not well versed on the the TV contracts the NHL has.

There are great rivalry games on all the time, no matter what network the games are on some will be missed.

This year was TERRIBLE for the NFL on the national stage. Of course, a lot of that has to do with Indy losing Manning and KC sucking this year. But the fact that they can't flex it hurts too...obviously you can't just change MNF games for teams, but there were some terrible ones.

They also put Jacksonville and St. Louis on MNF.

Lucky for the OP, Versus will no longer exist in just a couple days.

Fact is they've shown a commitment to hockey like no other American network. Versus/NBC's contract only allows them to broadcast games Monday through Wednesday with weekend games on NBC (mostly Sunday). Whether the NHL didn't put that on the table to sell the Center Ice package or Versus just didn't want to pay for it, I have no idea.

And while you might think the Pens are always on, in 2012, there will be up to 10 Pens' games shown nationally, while there will be up to 11 Bruins' games. Full NBC 2012 schedule

IMO, Versus has done a great job covering hockey. They are featuring more games than in the past and NHL Overtime is a quality show. All good stuff for hockey fans and the game itself.

versus is fine. used to have issues with them, but about 4 years ago they turned a corner. should be even better with a real network backing them now. though we might have to deal with more doc emmeric pontification, which i dont mind so much.

IMO VS/NBCSN is doing a better job than the NHL network when it comes to actual games and highlights. I dont like the changes the NHLN has made.

I love Versus. I hate that there aren't more channels with balls big enough to show a hockey game.
