To be sure, it has been a misfit in Minnesota. Their HC want to be a running team, their OC's have insisted on primarily throwing the ball. Signing Kirk Cousins to hand the ball off, has thus far, been a mistake. To me (outsider looking in) they have to get the ball to their two outside receivers more and run as a compliment to that effort. Can Kirk deliver in a pass first offense, time will tell, and that depends upon a 180° turn-a-round in their HC's philosophy.

How many Minnesota games have you watched? I am wondering because I have watched most. Your characterization is partially right but also off in many ways. What has disappointed me is Zimmer and his lack of understanding of offense. His D is playing well now but wasn't earlier. FG have been an adventure. Three starters out on the Oline have hurt. Dalvin Cook out for half a season has hurt. Offense coaching last night was horrendous yet they had a chance to win until late when Minn going for a FG to make it 6-3 had the FG blocked by Wagner (he was a monster) on an illegal leveraging called.

Cousin's has been mostly good but bad on occasion. I detailed all of this before so I am not going to do it again. But deciding how they played by watching one or two games just shows that you have come up short in your diagnosis. In the last few weeks, not all season Zimmer had directed the team to run the ball more even when it wasn't working. See Chicago and Seattle especially.

Now if you laughed and said well Cousin's went from the frying pan into the fire I would agree.

It depends on what is meant. Brady and Brees have never thrown as often as KC has been. I also expected some growing pains, especially with that OL. What I don’t get is KC choosing to look at Rudolph over Thielen...poor decision.

Kirk wasn't bought there to be the savior. He was paid to do exactly what they thought Keenum couldn't and Brady and Brees could, that's win against the Brady's, Brees's and Roger's of the NFL. Unfortunately, Kirk has never been that guy who makes the money play in that moment when the game is on the line that puts or keeps his team ahead for good. (Uh-Oh here comes the BS) Don't get me wrong, Kirk as I've consistently said, is a pretty good player. He became that here in D.C. and like far too many here, that's all he was while here and thus far with the Vikes. Top ten? lots of impressive numbers, all relative, but at the end of the day, he cut his teeth in an environment that applauds 8-8 give or take a game.

The question now and the reason why his name is widely the subject pertaining to a mistake in Minnesota is, can he shake the stench of mediocrity in Washington that gave rise to his status as a free agent, or is that all he's going to be? It is a costly sum that the Vikings are paying, in order to get the answer to that question. Right now, sitting at 6-6-1 the answer is a resounding NO!!

Now I dare anyone to say that he did it in D.C. and that the defense lost those games...I absolutely dare anyone to do that!

That's it, attack the messenger then sparse your responses in order to agree with said messenger, except when it comes to directly evaluating the subject. I've watched about half of their games, and I'm not seeing anything different about Kirk that I saw when he was here. What's the optimal number of games that I have to watch in order to meet your standard?

Zimmer is old school and wants to win games 9-3, He wants a game manager who doesn't make those killer mistakes. They didn't think that Keenum could make the crucial throw, in that crucial moment in games where that throw is the difference between winning and losing, so they signed Kirk. This is part of the public record and is easily found with a internet search. The problem is, there's no record of Kirk ever being able to do what Zimmer wants, anywhere!

  1. You wrote, "Cousin's has been mostly good but bad on occasion..." This translates to 6 wins (mostly good) 6 loses (mostly bad) and 1 tie (Meh). I get it without proof, you BELIEVE, Kirk to be a great QB, in fact, "better than we've had in a long time." will defend him against any and every evaluation that you don't like, and it really doesn't matter to you if that evaluation is factual or not. (see, I can attack the messenger too) Falling in love with players is detrimental to being able to fairly evaluate them, you know this Coach Sporter72. C'mon man!

You know I am tired of this place. People don't understand the game. People don't understand posts. It is tiring. None of what you wrote there is what I said. Have fun. :L

Well, he has beat the Aaron Rodgers of the world, and I believe it was Dad who posted he has more come back victories than any QB since he took over. He would beat Rodgers more if his kickers could make FGs.

KC is in a new offense, as is all of Minnesota. Coaches and corrdinators matter. He played a clunker of a game against Seattle, NE, and Buffalo. He was good enough to beat the Rams. He played well against NO and dominated GB twice.

The defense for Minnesota started poorly and they have had no run game all season. There are a lot of reasons for Minnesota’s record. I would place Buffalo squarely on KC’s shoulders. I would place NE on the entire offense, especially the OC. I would place Seattle and Chicago squarely on the fired OC shoulders. The Rams is squarely on the defense and NO was a team loss with a special shot out to Diggs.

With 1 TD pass, 302 yards passing and not losing 8.4% on his QB rating he will be the only QB in the NFL with:
4,000+ yards passing
25+ TDs
90%+ QB Rating

Over the last 4 years.

No one said he was the greatest ever, I said he was the best since Trent Green. I would have signed him, kept my 3rd round pick and my CB. But that is me, anyone and everyone is free to disagree.

Tony Romo as often criticized for not winning big games .

I bet we would kill for Romo in his prime right now

Now if winning games is the end all be all for measuring QB play then statistically kap has played well but he has a 3-16 record over the last 19 games

His PFF rating was 28th out of 36 qualifiers his last active season

I'll give you all of that, but let's talk big games. 4-24 against teams with winning records and 0-7 on Monday nights. Thoughts? The difference is, I'm not the type to sugarcoat what a player is or has been. They are what they are and that's how I refer to them. As always, I still think that Kirk is a pretty good QB, but I want to win multiple championships. For that to happen I need much better at the position, especially with respect to those intangible things that are often the difference between a pretty good QB and a great one.

Nonsense, we had his step down and didn't kill to keep him, so Nope to Romo now or in his prime!

I don’t worry about the teams with winning records thing. It is really a silly stat. He has been on .500 teams throughout his starting career. Would you rather a few more losses to poor teams for a win against a good one? Like I said, go look at the years Brees and Rodgers have been .500. Would you like to see how many good teams they beat?
