I'm often wrong, and make no claims that I'm always right, but since I was called stupid for saying Jacksonville would draft a WR, I'd like to say "blow me". Not only did they take one, but traded up to do so.

Also, Floyd was gone by 17, as I said. Here is what August said: "Ok, first Blackmon is the #1 WR in this draft class. And 2nd, where is he going to go? He's not going top 10 and none of the teams between 11 and 16 needs WR's. Kansas City (11th) has Dwayne Bowe and just spent a 1st Round pick last season on Jon Baldwin. Seattle (12th) signed Sidney Rice to a five-year, $43 million contract and struck gold with rookie Free Agent Doug Baldwin who was 4th among rookies with 788 yds receiving. Arizona (13th) has Larry Fitzgerald. Dallas (14th) has Dez Bryant and Miles Austin. Philadelphia (15) has Jeremy Maclin and DeSean Jackson."

He went to Arizona.

No you weren't called stupid for saying Jacksonville would draft a WR. Quit making stuff up.

You were called stupid for not understanding the point that picking up Robinson made WR less of a need for them than it originally was, making August's argument that he believed they'd take another position that much more valid.

Never once did I say they wouldn't take a WR. Not once.

I understood that perfectly fine and you're not going to restart this argument so don't try.

Them trading up to grab the WR proved that their signing didn't impact their need/want for a WR in this draft. Their signing of a F/A WR didn't lessen the likely-hood of them drafting a WR one bit.

So that makes the speculation that WR would be less of a need invalid?

August thought Jacksonville would grab a position other than WR, and he was wrong about that. But nonetheless, his argument still carries merit. It's more or less common sense which some people couldn't pick up.

This thread was playfully directed at August who insisted that there was no way Jacksonville woul draft a WR. I wouldnt have any reason to direct it to you. You don't have any of your own thought. You just like to jump in on other peoples.

I don't believe August ever called you stupid. That was me, so that sure doesn't seem to be the case.

That was thrown in for effect. As you said, you had no opinion.

That wasn't the argument. You made the claim that they would take Michael Floyd and they didn't.

vancelot23- Floyd will be gone because he is seen as a #1 WR in the NFL.

augustisback003- Ok, first Blackmon is the #1 WR in this draft class. Philadelphia (15) has Jeremy Maclin and DeSean Jackson. The Jets, a run first team, could select a WR with Plaxico Burress un-signed but they have far more pressing needs on the O-line and pass rush. So where does the leave Floyd? I feel he will be available when the Bengals make their selection with the 17th pick and considering the teams lack of activity in the Free Agency market at the position the Bengals will most likely address the need in the draft.

vancelot23- Jacksonville most likely.

augustisback003- (excerpt) The Jaguars agreed to terms with receiver Laurent Robinson on Wednesday and re-signed defensive end Jeremy Mincey, filling the team's most pressing needs on the second day of free agency.
Robinson agreed to a five-year, $32.5 million contract that gives the team a No. 1 receiver. The deal includes $14 million guaranteed.

vancelot23- LOL @ Laurent Robinson. He's a #2 at best. Floyd is a legitimate #1. If the Jaguars wouldn't draft Floyd because they have Roberson, why in the hell would the Bengals draft him since they have Green?

then it boiled down into name calling as usual.

They would have taken Floyd if they hadn't traded up. They were obviously targeting WR. Regardless, I didn't mean offense August. Just giving you a hard time.
