I chalk it up to youth

I have been sitting here all night trying to put the loss on the coaches........problem is, this time I can't.

During the game I know I was saying we just didn't come prepared. After I thought about it a little bit, I see it differently. We have too much youth on the field......period. Maybe that's on the coaches......but I'm not so sure. I'm not so sure we really have much of a choice but to play a bunch of Freshmen........we're just a really young team right now.

A Freshman at QB who threw 1 interception today and fumbled 2 times on his own.

A Freshman RB who dropped a simple option toss for 1 fumble.

A Freshman WR who fumbled a punt return.

All 5 turnovers, in fact, were committed by first year guys who looked like deer in headlights today. It's just the situation we're currently in. These guys will all grow from this and get better.......but today they were shaking in their boots, and it was obvious. It was a big game.....way too big for a bunch of Freshmen to handle.

You can say all you want about how a good coach would have even Freshmen ready to play in games like this.....

Meh.....I aint buyin it. I've been that age before.....I remember it quite well.

Young guys made young guy mistakes today, and it cost us the game. Our overall gameplan was great. We weren't going to lose that game without the turnovers.....there is no question there. The fact is though, the turnovers happened........and what should we really expect from a bunch of Freshmen playing for the most pressured team in all of College sports?

recruit well and you won't have go rely heavily on freshman like that .

This isn't a freshman excuse every big game we lay an egg freshman wasn't the excuse for last year blowout losses. I think we need to realize that with bo this is what we're gonna be.

Honestly though, our Defense is starting to step it up. Just when everyone else is calling for Bo's head, I'm starting to actually like the guy again.....

Today was one of those days where shit just went wrong over and over again. Some of the calls the refs made today as well had me wondering if God just wanted us to lose this game.

It was just an odd game. If we even subtract 2 of those turnovers we win that game. That is how good our Defense is playing and also how good our Rushing attack is on Offense.

That one intentional grounding that the refs overturned because they said he threw the ball past the line of scrimmage............I about shit....

That was close to being the worst call I've seen all year long in College Football. I mean, that one was terrible. Then of course there was the one where the guy was stopped 1 yard short of a 1st down and he ended up getting 2.5 extra yards somehow....

Good points here. We've seen the same bullshit with veteran players time after time after time in big games.

Believe it or not, I like Bo, but he needs to hire some experienced assistants and let them DO THEIR JOBS! If this happens, we will see a better product for sure on the field for many years to come!

why are we shock that we fall apart in big moments

go down quickly to a power run game team when we knew that we needed a good start.

coaching experience is young just like the players. Beck is lucky Bo taking the heat bc he had been Shawn Watson 2.0.

wake up . wake up . This is what Bo team do whether senior or freshman . The most experience and depth is offense


when game day becomes your de facto live practice and trial and error day what do you expect.

I'm more mad at myself for drinking the Kool aid again when my gut said we would fuck up again.

No more excuses year 6 six 3 losses avg bowl game coming up and again the same cycle.

I'm really torn.

On one hand I'm with JJM. The defense is getting better. The offense is clicking (when it's not turning the ball over). If I look past all the turnovers, I really liked the product that was put on the field Saturday. We were competitive and had a chance to win. The guys played hard and fought back. I want Bo to succeed because I like his attitude and commitment.

That said, and as others are saying every where, I'm sick of seeing these error filled games. The turnovers especially. It's been going on for a while now. I thought ball security was an emphasis in the off season. That consistent inconsistency is what makes me want to go with a coaching change.

I guess I'll just keep stewing on it. I'd really hate to see us lose the progress we are making on D by bringing in a new coaching staff. But agree some changes need made. I keep thinking about how we can stop turning the ball over and I look at our offensive coaches and I go straight to Beck. OL has been great this year even with the injuries. WRs are great under Fisher, RBs are pretty darn good under Brown. QB play, eh mediocre, that's on Beck. Beck's play calling has been great at times but atrocious at others. But i do bring it all back to Bo and the game prep.

Defense - I think we need a new LB coach. that's the one unit that just hasn't been consistent this year. the DL are leaps and bounds above where we were at the beginning of the year and the Secondary is darn good. that MSU game, they got beat a few times, but when the QB makes a perfect throw, there isn't much to do, they were blanketing the receiver for the most part.

Special Team - we need to hire a dedicated coach for this. Seriously, how can our punt return be this bad? Heck I think any Joe Schmo here in Nebraska could do better. We have no punt rush, we have no punt return blocking, It makes me sick when you see 5 or 6 defenders running down field untouched. No wonder Westerkamp fumbles, he's a deer in headlights out there.

Chalk it up to youth if you want, but turnovers cost us the game and this problem is nothing new.

Next year will be TA's and Westy's 3rd year, this is the byproduct of not recruiting from 2009 through 2011. We're on an endless cycle, I look forward to the same next year, yay

No one dislikes Bo like we did cally but the same thing happens every year...

Every big game weren't not ready .. beck is overrated I really liked him early but he's another Watson that needed the right qb and tmart was not it.

I would love for Joseph Fisher ganz OL coach to stay. but I won't miss the other and special teams.. never mind Imma leave that out just like how they leave it out of practice during the week.

time for a new direction this last game showed me things aren't going to change .
