i have confirmed nothing of the sort . i have stated we will get better with him at QB . in fact we have and as the team puts more around him he will thrive even more

Where are you getting the facts for that? Or are you taking a chance on that happening? You didn't improve from last year.

You discount the biggest factor in this. the owner. And much like a few in our fan base, the owner would much rather keep bringing in the sexy QB that sells jerseys, than build the rest of the team and work around a competent, yet un-flashy QB. Its why we went for Bob, instead of settling for Tannehill or Cousins. (And yes I think if Mike and Kyle would have had there way, we would have drafted Cousins in the 2nd round of 2012 and be past all this crap already)

I don't think that I've discounted anyone.......Dan is a fan who's reaping the benefits of ownership. His biggest issue right now is in trying to keep his organizational aspirations separate from the product on the field. Unfortunately, I'm convinced that he believes that he's getting a two for one deal in Bruce Allen. Allen on his part while connected to the many hands that he pumps in various outside venues, is not doing Snyder's product any favors as a GM. Dude literally hired a legitimate GM, took his ideas and after firing the guy, used his ideas to a T.

I'm not acting like my opinion is fact, I'm providing facts that my opinions are based on. There's a difference.
Did Dallas think they drafted the next Brady or Rodgers when they took Dak Prescott? Probably not. Look how that turned out for them.

To address your point about Brees, were the Chargers right about Drew Brees? Don't think so. Look at what he's done in New Orleans since arriving. They took a chance in the draft on Phillip Rivers. And didn't it work out for them? Went from 9-7 to 14-2 and 4 straight division titles.

My point exactly.

try not to think so short sightedly

I'm just trying to figure out where you're getting the idea that you will improve with him as QB more than what you've already improved. When he took over for RG3 in 2013, he went 0-3. When he took over for RG3 in 2014, he went 1-4. I also remember saying that the choice of Greg Manusky as DC was a bad move as well. But I don't know anything.

@BurgundyBlog I've got it. Bengals finish with a top 5 pick take a QB. Dalton on the block. Gruden reunited with dalton.

food for thought

@Terry Rode

Don't waste your breathe arguing your points buddy. We have discussed it ad nauseum. I agree with you, but some on this board have dug their feet in the sand and refuse to believe that Cousins is not the answer and someone who will take us to the promised land. Anything short of KC completely imploding (and turning into Scott Tolzien) will not change their opinions of him.

I think he is an above average QB that has some good skills, but some major flaws as well, kinda like Tony Romo was. I hope I am completely wrong, but I see us dipping our toes in the playoff waters with him over about a 5 year period, but never really making much noise or getting "over the hump". Unless he really shows me that he has taken the next step this year, some of us would just as soon move on and start over. Picking 10-18 isn't good enough for me. I want us to be picking 25-32.
VT, I actually agree with you that he does have flaws, and stated such above. So please dont include me in your generalization.

The questions are how realistic is it that we can find a rookie that doesn't also have flaws? Also, the question is can KC improve on his flaws? My belief to the first question is I highly doubt it. My answer to the second is I don't know. But is it riskier to dump what you have that has flaws that you know about but has also shown that they can play at a high level for another whose flaws are unknown and hasn't shown anyone that they can even play in this league? That is really what this debate is all about.

The team will suffer a setback. We will have to use an inordinate amount of resources finding our next QB. This will stunt our investment in other areas like building a stout defense. Not sure why that is so confusing.

To me the team doesn't suffer a setback if Kirk walks, but instead because there isn't much of a team there anyway. It is disingenuous to say on one hand that the most dependent player on any team sets that team back if he is a Cousins type, and on the other hand state that organization still needs to build the team.

Its not having KC that sets us back, necessarily, but the fact we have to use an inordinate amount of resources on finding his replacement that can't be used ini the build up of the rest of the team.

We really don't have to spend an inordinate amount to replace Cousins with a Cousins type. There are more of this type of player around than people want to give credit to.

This just proves you dont know this team.

9-7, 10th in offense, 17th in defense. Division champs. Made the playoffs.
8-7-1, 12th in offense, 19th in defense. 3rd in the division. Didn't make the playoffs.

What else is there to see? You won less, the defense and offense got worse and you didn't win the division title, didn't make the playoffs. Not sure where there are more important places to improve on than those.

This is where we disagree. And why replace him with another one like him? If you are going to replace him shouldn't the replacement be better?

From 9-7 to 8-7-1 while both are winning seasons is a step back in that order. Maybe a half step back.

I've already pointed out to you that the 8-7-1 was a result of the defense and special teams. IF you knew the team and not t he stat line, you would understand this.

The challenge here was to put a name out who could be a cheaper equal or better QB than Kirk Cousins. I did that. Just because some want to poo-poo that name....it was done, and with legitimate comparisons. Dude would actually be a much, much better fit in this offense than Kirk.

It doesn't matter who cost y'all the game. You didn't improve. Neither side of the ball improved. It's not just the defense's fault and it's not just KC's fault. You have no o-line, no running game, KC is still making bad decisions. If KC was such a good QB, why is the offense not improving? Also, the QB is supposed to be the leader of the team on and off the field. He needs to be a locker room leader. Is he? I don't know. I doubt it though.

Looking at last week, Sam Bradford AND Teddy Bridgewater are FAs next year...Just sayin. Vikings aren't gonna keep both.
