Cant blame Synder for the last 2 years he has paid KC top dollar but his QB is not producing results. Lets hope Kc turns it around. If KC fails this year how is it Synders fault?

It would be a bottom line kinda thing.....He hired Bruce, Bruce insisted on paying more for a then failed QB than was necessary. Dan is pissed that his pockets are a few million dollars lighter than was necessary but in a light bulb moment, sees his reflection in the mirror and realizes that....maybe none of this shit happens if he hadn't put so much stock in Bruce. I:E His fault.

Guys stability and consistency come because you have good players and coaches. Not the other way around.

If you are changing QB and coach every two to three years, will you ever figure out if either was really worth keeping around.

By that line of thinking, if a Coach isnt winning 10+ games a season by year two.. time to start over. And if your QB isnt an MVP candidate by year two.. again time to start over.

This is a byproduct of the Burger King mentality. Every one wants to have it their way, instantly. If not, drive down the road to the next whataburger.

That wasnt an argument to fire or dump everybody after a season or 2.

Sometimes you can tell when things are bad. Take Zorn. Should we really have kept him around just to see if he was actually a good coach? Of course not. He was awful so we moved on.

Sometimes you cant tell that quickly. Gruden and Cousins arent locked in as our guys really but theyre still here after quite a few years.

This has nothing to do with any BK mentality. Thats completely missing what Im saying.

Just dont keep players and coaches who arent good enough for some weird desire for stability.

Exactly, if you have a good team in need of a QB, lacking one does not negate the fact that you have a good team.

I didnt say that at all.

But stability for stability's sake is a bad idea.
Oh ok, I miss understood. I agree with that sentiment, but what I was saying I think it would be wise to invest in KC and Gruden and see what happens, give a LTC to Kurt :D and let Gruden coach for a bit.

All good.

I mostly agree. Im not really 100% sold on either. But I would prefer to keep them around. At this point its really all about price and whether or not we'll even be able to keep KC around.

the reason we end up with the Zorns, Spurriors and such just might be, no one see's this as a viable long term job. How many good coaches have we talked to that would perfer to be else where??

gruden is in his 4th year.. mainly because he has had two winning seasons, and because firing him would have likely lead to another Zorn type hire.

Cousins has been on the one year rental plan for now going into year three. Thats not stability. Thats called we kept him because there wasnt some shiny option the Owner and GM liked better that was readily available. Kirk is like that car you keep paying on because while it does everything OK, you havent found the new toy you like better, and just ditching it might land you in a prius. YOu dont really like the car you got, but you are better off keeping it until you find that dream SUX6000

Kirk (Kurt:D) is NOT the issue beyond not having a long term deal. The actual problem is that we are no more than what we've already been and sliding. This is because QB's are the most dependent players on a football team. So, the real issue is: "what" Kirk currently is dependent upon, is NOT good enough to get us or him where we would all like to go.

What this team needs is:

1. A SB caliber defense
2. A top 5 running attack (great OL)
3. A pick your poison receiving corps

Hell.....I'm in my mid 60's and if the team had that, I could win a SB playing QB. :dhd:

I think the difficulty of getting qualified candidates is overblown. Snyder will throw money at people and it is an NFL HC gig in a pretty good location with an owner that wants to win (not that he has the faintest clue how to).

Plus I dont think you need to chase the star coaching candidates to get a good HC. There are plenty of under the radar guys out there.

Kirk is gonna be the starter 3 straight years at least. Regardless of the weird year to year way its happening - thats some stability. That said - to take your analogy - if you dont really like the car you have you probably shouldnt pay massive chunks of $$ to keep it.

Hey, since we're doing the HC as a replacement for Gruden thing, how about this guy? He believes in massive O-linemen who dominates at the line of scrimmage. Especially in running the ball.

we havent had stability to even talk about" stability for stability's sake "

and its looks like we wont after this season either no matter how it ends up .

a guy putting up numbers KC has put up should have more wins period . to me the issues are elsewhere ,not behind center

KC , the sonny jurgensen , of the 2017's

A better counter to another remark, KC, the weaker Joe Theesman of 2017

You have to admit that Terry makes some solid points.

They really aren't good points.

Brady, Ben, and Wilson had the number one defenses in their turnarounds. Luck had the third easiest schedule in 2012, 3rd easiest in 2013, and 2014 was second easiest. From there, how have they done since? How have they done since Houston and the Titans have gotten better? I also quickly showed him they faired better when he was out in 2014.

I can't explain Eli Manning for the life of me.

He also seems to think no matter how good the surrounding team is for KC, KC can't win more than 9 games. Well he should have won 10 last season. There was a botched chip shot FG for the win and the defensive collapse against the Lions. I wonder if any other team lost in 65 seconds with a 4 point lead last season.

True, but is Kc really getting any better? I know it's early in the season but what we saw on Sunday makes me nervous. I hope it changes

It should make us worry. He looked like shit.

Up until the last two games, yes, he was getting better. He has to improve on blitz reads and accuracy under duress.

KC has regressed right after his best performance of his career which was the GB game. I don't count the Bears last season they were just bad.
