Shit this sucks. 3 DUI's means he should not be drinking. First one at Nebraska,, I hope they give him a chance to get his shit together. Not sure how he can do that with the season on us though and not effect his position.

Damnit I knew he was to good to be true.

Problem is these guys who get multiple DUI's never seem to learn.

I've known a few in my life. They get their license back and everything gets normal again and suddenly they morph this whole thing in their head to where they believe they're back to where they first started.

Most of us would learn after the first one. Hell, my 2 closest friends both got one and because of that I learned. I'll never get a DUI because I saw them and it registered in my brain and now I'm not stupid enough to do it.

I don't know what you do in this situation to get this guy straightened out. If he's gotten 3, he's gonna drink and drive again some time. Might not be for 5 years, but he'll do it again some time. They never learn.

I know this first hand, too. My sister's ex got 5 DUI's. Yes, 5.

He managed to get a 3rd one......deal with the time away from his license.........and then get a 4th one........go to jail and deal with more time away from his license........................and then get a 5th one. Yes, he got 5 DUI's, you're reading this correctly.

To keep job, I think he needs to enroll into program, be subject to random testing with zero tolerance.

Or just dismiss him. Guess it depends on circumstances of past two. Has he already been into programs and has kept bouncing back to the booze, or has no one tried helping him in past?

Not to trivialize the first 2 offenses or even a third now, which draws a pretty clear line, but this is his first incident at NU that I'm aware, which may be the only thing that saves his job. Long road ahead for KW whatever the decision will be, one man isn't bigger than the entire program. His daily words of wisdom on his Twitter feel pretty empty in hindsight right now

Idk, generally after 2 you get help. Most people are court ordered to out-patient rehab after 2.

With his 3rd one he'll definitely be in rehabilitation. Especially with his job.

Reason being after 2 a pattern is developing. After 3 a pattern has developed.

Speaking of which, where in the hell is @Red_Alert these days? Doing time for multiple DUI's?? :dhd:

Too many people, especially here at the Hoop condone this type of crap. KW is one selfish SOB for sure. I hope this doesn't hurt recruiting, but it most likely will.

I'm guessing probation, mandatory treatment, loss of license for the courts. And a one or two game suspension, plus some kind of accountability assignment from inside the program.

I heard some crazy statistic that I have no idea how they got it, but on average a person has driven drunk 80 times without getting caught before their first arrest. So how many times before your 3rd?

I think this will be the final wake up call with how public this thing is.

Nobody's condoning it but I can't stand when people come out with their torches and pitchforks over a DUI when I guarantee they've done something just as selfish/stupid if not more in their life but didn't get caught.
