Donate money to favorite charity, that is what I tell my kids or tell others we are paying when they say "don't pay me or that is too much"

Yeah. I've lost three 4x8 galvanized panels off of my pole shed in the last month. Once the 25-30 mph sustained winds work them lose, the 50-60mph gusts finish them off. They can't be re-used either because they are bent to all to hell.

Damn that sucks! I worried about one of the panels too. Got all beat up!

Odd winter.

Brutal cold spells, brutal winds, no snow.

The kids are jonesing too go sledding.

The good thing about a lack of snow is we warm up quickly once the cold moves out. There's no refrigerator effect from having snow cover on the ground. It's been great ice fishing in the 40's and 50's. The ice is a foot thick or better.

Yeah we never got out of school for cold when I was a kid. Of course that was in the days prior to all the busing. It's hard to get the busses started in sub-zero because diesel fuel gels.

They have antigell crap that they put in there and plug them in. You think it might have something to do with the bus drivers. I can remember my mom keeping me home from school cuz of the cold but that was becouse I had to walk (uphill both ways)

All I know is we bundled up and out the door we went to walk to school.

Elementary school was right across the street so no big deal, jr high was 11 blocks away, and high school was about 5 blocks away.

I think the logic then was "if you're willing to go out and play in it, you can walk to school in it".

You couldn't keep us inside as kids unless we were grounded. We'd get bored, start fighting, and drive our parents nuts. If there wasn't any snow for sledding, we'd get a pick up game of sand lot football going or a basketball game going in someone's driveway. If there weren't any other kids out, my brother and I would grab our pellet guns and go rabbit hunting. Anything was better than being stuck inside.

You rarely see kids outside playing anymore, even in beautiful weather.

I waited 20 mins for the bus for Jr. and Sr. high. No big deal you bundled up.
