Going into this year the Giants did not have a regular #2 hitter because Scutaro has had back problems. Bochy asked Hunter Pence to hit 2nd because of his speed and his ability to get on base. With Crawford getting into his groove now maybe Bochy should try him in the 2 hole. Crawford likes fastballs and he will get plenty of them up in the 2 hole.Pence seems out of sorts right now. He has been the good soldier for the team but it's obvious he is more comfortable in the middle of the line up.
He just seems frustrated right now. Bochy should go back to Pence being a RBI guy in the middle and see if he busts out of his mini funk (8-51 with only 1 HR and 3 RBI's). I think once he knows everyday he is hitting in his original position in the line up he will respond and push his numbers up. Its time for Hunter to rock.
