Patriots have interviewed Pep Hamilton and Byron Leftwich.

Albert Breer is screaming that the Patriots are conducting a "scam" search because those two meet the two minority interviews required by the Rooney Rule. How come there was no screaming last year when he hired a black coach, who they wanted, and didn't interview any Hispanics, Arabs or Jews??

Vrabel is officially interviewing Thursday morning.

Ben Johnson can interview Thursday because it's the only free day before the weekend games start.

Rumors have said that Mike McCarthy spoke with the Krafts yesterday.

Raiders fired their head coach Pierce and minority owner Tom Brady supposedly has been asked by majority owner Mark Davis to help him find the next victim.

1) I doubt Bill will leave North Carolina this fast.
2) I shared a rumor that Tom was selling the BB HC idea as soon as the NFL OK'ed his ownership.
3) Maybe next year?

Is it me, or is Davis' haircut his best quality?

I think the NFL needs to figure out a new way to handle coaching interviews. Unfortunately teams have been doing this for a long time of doing what it takes to meet the rules set up, but there are times like this situation with the Patriots where they have a clear path they want to go with Vrabel. Is it worth wasting the times of others because of some rules put in place?

I think it is great that the NFL wants to help minority coaches get more opportunities but forcing teams to interview them might not be the answer.

The Rooney rule isn't just about getting minority candidates immediate jobs. It's also about getting them in the door and gaining experience with interviewing as well as breaking stereotypical understandings within organizations.

breaking stereotypical understandings within organizations.
Most owners and teams have gotten beyond the stereotypical biases of the past. Just as they have gotten beyond the old black quarterback biases.
The problem is being 'forced' to interview two minority candidates. No one like being forced to follow rules when hiring anyone. Why aren't teams forced to interview at last two female candidates for every position???

The Rooney Rules is a bullshit, save face. for the NFL.

I can't wait for a woman to sue the NFL because she didn't get an interview for a GM position. Half a trillion in damages???

Isn't a woman already considered a minority?
If they interviewed a woman would that count as 1?

I believe Johnson will interview tomorrow as well.
there were reports Johnson was interviewing with the bears on saturday the 11th, Games start at 330 central time.

I dont know about your fans, but I really do not want a head coach who is taking any, I mean absolutely ANY TIME away from his playoff preparations. Players are off recovering, but coaching should never be shut off to interview for the next job.

Also wondering if the Mayo firing was due to the Lovie Smith deal in Houston of winning away the number one pick. I think that was the best thing to happen to Houston. Nobody is saying they would not have chosen CJ anyway, but it did save them a few million dollars, right?

I would not be happy.
Note that not only can it affect the job performance but can also affect the interview!
