They won't give the Phillies a top prospect for Howard and they want the Phillies to eat most of his contract. This means little money is freed up to buy new contracts plus the Phils end up paying Howard to hit homers somewhere else. That makes no sense. You want mid-level prospects? We already have them. It makes me wonder, who's trash is better.
