Nintendo holding onto a 10% share of their ownership.

What great news.

To be clear, Mariners sale moves majority interest from Nintendo to other members of current ownership group.

Mariners CEO Howard Lincoln is also resigning and will be replaced by John Stanton. Stanton has been with team... http://es.pn/1T5wWz8

New M's owner John Stanton is a business partner of Tacoma Rainiers owner Mikal Thomsen. This is very good for long-term stability.

Nintendo will retain 10 percent ownership. New group will be First Ave. Entertainment, which is limited partnership that owns M's and ROOT.

Good news, it's nice to have a face of the organization. Just hope he is more fan friendly than previous leadership. Someone you can hold accountable, not just the hitting coach. Read about him being involved with Root Sports which is another positive for not just baseball fans but Sonics fans as well.

Bad news, we have yet to win a game under the new ownership.

I knew that Nintendo would one day give up majority ownership and I knew one day that Howard Lincoln would retire. I didn't know both would happen on the same day. All I can say is that the M's had better keep winning under this new regime, otherwise I give it a month before people start crapping on them too.
