_phiLLies_
shut up baby, i know it
his already mediocre defense is hitting a new level. he's basically making at least one poor play per game over there.
Man this man was a top 5 player in baseball for a few good seasons i wonder why the downfall. I know you NL guys will kill me for saying this but im pro DH and this would be a perfect scenario to have the DH position
For the record if I could go back and add the DH to the NL in 2006 I still wouldn't do it even with the prospect of seeing Howard and Thome on the team together. You start fucking around with events that happened and it changes everything. They might not have won the world series in 2008.
One potential good side effect though-if they have Thome and Howard together, they are probably good enough in 2006 that they don't make the trade of Bobby Abreu to the Yankees, which also means they don't trade that pitcher with him, and he doesn't fly his plane into an apartment building. So there's that.....still I don't want to fuck up one of 2 World Series titles the Phillies won in the last 100 years.
at least he can still hit.. sometimes.. pitches down the middle.. when he beats the shift.
2 more years on that contract, then they can buy it out. maybe if he has a nice offensive year, they can trade him to an AL team looking for a DH. someone might be desperate if that 25 million per year gets knocked down to like 8 or 9.
dream scenario though.
