something like the 8th overall pick and a top 6 forward with a lot of potential and a reasonable salary.. somethin like that..

Knowing the dynamics of this team, and they style of play they're built for, you'd have to be incredibly ignorant to think that Carter is a better fit.

The Columbus Dispatch reports that the Blue Jackets talked with the Flyers about acquiring Carter in exchange for the eighth overall pick in this year's entry draft as well as a forward, thought to be Jakub Voracek....cap hit of 1.3 mil.

Would instantly solve the Flyers cap woes and include an NHL fwd in the deal. Very interesting if this happens....IMO the Flyers would be a better team with Bryz/Voracek instead of Carts. Especially when it comes to playoff hockey!!!

This. I dont know a lot about Voracek, but would he help with the (Most likely) departure of Leino?

Voracek is only 21 and had 46 points last year on a pop gun offense....lots of potential. Would never expect him to replace 40 goals but between him and JVR combined they could easily do it. We know Bryz would stop a few more goals too....

Hard to say with Leino but the more bucks they save the more chance he stays but I'm guessing he's gonzo no matter what they do.

Well from that post I say goodbye Carter. Having a young guy like Voracek with JVR and Giroux along with Richards and Briere should make a good mix. I also so on the general board that even though there arent any big superstars in this draft the 8th overall would still let us pick up a solid player.

And then there is Bryz. Triple win.

i don't think leino is gonna get away. i think he did holmer a favor by constituting what amounts to a handshake deal when he could have put the screws to the organization this year over contract negotiations. one thing i really like about holmer is that he does what it right by a player, especially when the player takes one the for the team. i think he signs leino, some how....some way.
