I originally thought this was a typo or something but I just heard McCarthy use the term "leaking" on the telecast. I never noticed anyone use it before in all the games I've watched. Is this going to be the new term that announcers beat to death, like "filthy" ?

he is done. Against some righties im sure he can still get a hold of one here and there. But hes a .230 hitter at best overall these days. There will be a platoon at 1st base with him and Ruf.........or atleast there better be.......period

I think "done" is a little of an overreaction. If you just look at his splits against RHP last year he was pretty solid, with a .302 BA and .878 OPS. They actually did rest him against lefty starters a lot last year and I'm sure they'll continue that this year. The next question is if he continues to not perform against LHP when will they start to pinch hit for him when he is facing a lefty reliever late in the game. I'm guessing the likelihood of that increases the closer that you get to the end of his mammoth contract.

Me and T-Mac have an inside beat on all the cool baseball phrases and nicknames before they become mainstream. We were already referring to Justin Upton as J-Up in 2003, even though he was still only in high school.

He needs at least 60 at bats in order to find his timing and swing. (IMO.) We will need him to deliver Homeruns and also to drive in runs if the Phillies want to improve this season. I am hoping that he can do better this time around!

They are who we thought they were, old and over the hill and they refuse to adjust to pitching year in year out, can't teach OLD dogs new tricks, ala Fat Howard, Jimmy popup, juice ruiz, kendrick, etc. Oh well its just my opinion, take it for what its worth, absolutely nothing.

Look at the box scores for the past 10 days. This ain't the Phillies we'll be paying to see. All teams are just fucking around trying lto ook at their depth. They're trying to win but guys are in and out of the lineup. Actually look at that old dog Byrd. He showed up.

I hear what your saying and see where your coming from but I'm still not sold, after these last few years I gotta see something to actually believe it, faith is only good if your religious, I don't have any faith in my hometown phillies, we have sat here and watched every year since 08 decline and do nothing about it, decimate the farm system and lastly revert to signing old hasbeens as if they are magically gonna produce. I hope they prove me and my pessimistic self wrong this year but until I see it I won't expect much.
