Winner of the B1G, National Title contender, #2 team in the final poll vs winner of the Sun Belt. If I were MSU, I'd get the FBI to investigate how the NCAA could treat them so unfairly. They had no chance.

How about putting them in Virginia's bracket in CHICAGO.

Kansas got screwed being sent away to the East.

Virginia should've gotten the Philly region and Kansas Chicago.

Glad both Purdue and MSU lost so that UVA didn't get that kind of royal hose job.

They just dug themselves too big of a hole getting beat on the boards in the first half. Not a surprise considering the interior was MSU's weak point.

They did play poorly on defense and that's what Michigan State is known for. When you allow almost 56% shooting you played poorly.

Amazing what happens when you play by the rules.

MSU is usually allowed to play the jungle ball style game. Just beating teams up with a laughably small amount of whistles (see UVA and Oklahoma last year).

Amazing what happens when that isn't allowed.

Enough with the excuses. Michigan State was a #2. they're supposed to be able to handle #15 seeds, they didn't. They weren't screwed over, they just didn't show up to play.

I didn't even get to see the game as I was traveling, but all I can say is......if MTSU scored 90 points against Michigan State, then the basketball gods had it out for Sparty.

I don't see it as Sparty choked as much as Sparty caught the wrong team on the wrong day. MTSU played like a 2 seed and Michigan State played like a 3 seed.

Look at all the first round upsets. It's trending towards this being a regular thing. There is just so much more talent to go around nowadays. You get some of these teams in the tournament and they get a chip on their shoulder and want to prove something.

I think Sparty was too worried about how they were going to play against Virginia to get into the final four. By the time they realized that MTSU wasn't going to roll over, it was too late.

That's a misleading stat though. You can play insane defense yet the shots the opposition takes go in... Regardless of the D.
