This season saw the American add a non-football school in Wichita State to go to 12 basketball schools, which not only added a good basketball team, but eased scheduling issues related to having just 11 teams.
Now I think the MW should do the same. There is a large market that the MW has not expanded into yet and that is the Pacific Northwest. No, Boise State doesn't really count. The school that can bring the MW into the region is Seattle of the WAC. It is located in the largest market in either the states of Washington or Oregon.
And it would allow the MW to use the divisional format for basketball, only with Seattle replacing Hawaii.
This is an opportunity the MW should not pass up. It has the chance to make the WAC respond again.
