Looks like the team is having a hard time rallying the "rock the red" fanbase this year... Took this off of a friend's FB feed from last night. THAT is pathetic attendance for a team that had such PASSIONATE fans not all that long ago. My conclusion is that the tickets are either too expensive or that fanbase is made up of a shitload of bandwagoneers...

I am not a Caps fan but look at the clock. There are probably a lot of fans who haven't made it to their seats yet.
I'm sure it doesn't really matter to you, my conclusion is you are just trying to shine a fan base you do not like in an unfavorable light. :)

DC sports fans are hilariously bandwaggon. You'd think the whole city had loved the Nats for years after last season. Caps seats are pretty expensive though. I know weeknights you can pick up tickets pretty reasonably on the secondary market, but my lower level seats from work on weeknights have a $115 face, and weekend are $175 per. That picture is about as bad as I've seen

Yes, and it was raining in DC then. So the majority of people were going 14 mph on 495 with their four way flashers on.

Those who were in the arena were still in line for their Latte.

You're wrong. It wasn't raining but there was the possibility of rain sometime that night. The rest is right though.

Most cities' teams are bandwagoners to some extent. If there is a down year, attendance suffers. As much as we all may like hockey, it is still #4 on the totem pole here, all things being equal. If the Caps are not winning, the attendance will drop fast.

All that being said, the Caps' average attendance so far this year is at 100% capacity, so it may not be all that bad yet. I have no idea if this uses the "sold" or "actually attended" numbers, so take it for what it's worth.

Ah. My mistake. So they were going 14 mph without their four way flashers on.

No, you were right about that too. Everything you posted was correct except it hadn't rained yet. The drivers had to prepare though.

Got it. I've been away too long in the land of pothole slalom.

I had no idea people used their four ways until I moved here. It's hilarious.

And any rain may as well be 4 inches of snow.
