Very intriguing team with new HC Strong at the helm. It will be very interesting to see the results in the first year of this new era.

Disclaimer: Texas fans, not trying to stir shit. Just curious of the public's opinion.

UCLA losing any key players?

LB Anthony Barr a projected top 10 pick.

Myles Jack LB/RB grinch mode is back as well as Hundley.

They didnt lose much.
They are scary loaded and Oregon has to go to LA to play them....:gaah:

Be interesting to see if they have that zone read d patched up vs BYU. In Austin I give Texas the edge.

Wrong, it will be at Jerry's World.

WOW!

Nice.... That makes it even better. Still a home crowd though. UCLA SHOULD travel well to that game but lets face it, it is UCLA fan base we are talking about.

We should be fine.
The cupboard is not bare at all for Strong.

I predict 9 wins.
They will lose to OU and KSU while splitting with BYU/UCLA.
All the other games are very winnable and should be wins.

That is assuming that the QB, RB, LB, and DE situation all returns to normalcy.
We wont have to suffer watching a horrible backup at quarterback in Case McCoy.

David Ash might not be elite, but he is very serviceable and a capable quarterback.
Johnathan Gray is an NFL first round talent who helped Texas get hot in the middle of the season.

That was a 1-2 combo that was almost impossible to overcome.
Once Gray went down, Texas limped to a 1-3 finish with McCoy clearly exposed as bad QB.

If Ash, Hick, and Gray are all back Texas will compete for a Big 12 crown.
If not, there will be some learning curve issues for youngster recruits.

I believe that the Defense will be greatly improved. I anticipate Top 20 or better.

The offense is a real question mark, mostly due to the QB position. While Ash is saying he will be back, it's questionable. I think he has suffered numerous undiagnosed concussions and won't be able to play the entire season, if any of it. That leaves Swoopes, a true Sophomore with no real playing time and a true Freshman in Heard. Both, Swoopes and Heard are dual threat QBs.

With the right offensive schemes, this might not be bad.

Horns, I think you all will get over on KSU this season under the new regime. I would think OSU in Stillwater would be a bigger potential chance at a loss than KSU in Manhattan.

I seriously doubt Gray plays next year. It's pretty typical to need close to a year to recover from the injury he suffered. Although people have defied that lately. Ash seems to have been cleared. We will see. Hicks will be back.

KSU is returning a loaded team next year and finished the year on fire. I see many parallels with Baylor 2012 and how that propelled them in 2013.

OKLAHOMA STATE will lean towards completely sucking next season.
They lose just about every player that made them competitive for the last 4 "golden era" seasons.
The same goes for Texas Tech and Baylor (to a lesser degree).

Both WVU and K-State will have better seasons than OSU, Baylor, and Texas Tech.

The Big 12 was down in 2013. It will be even worse in 2014.
There is no reason for Texas not to compete for the title. Only Oklahoma looks relatively set up.

Hookem, Horns.

Yall would no better than I. Didnt know Oky Jr was getting gutted.

Same as Stanford... They have many (Golden Era) players leaving.

That SR class was absolutely incredible. But man, they are losing all the big guns. Be interesting to see if Stanford reloads and contends for another Rose Bowl. I am hoping not... lol.

Anyways, with Texas' struggles with KSU I could see the Hookems have that game circled as a must win in 2014. Of course they are all must win, but extra motivation is on the table here and Strong could easily change that trend in that matchup in year one.
