I will disagree with your #4 point, he had some incredible talent around him in the 2013 to 2015 years (without checking). They had a very good oline and better skill at WR than the Cowboys have, without seeing how well their rookie WR performs... They were brain dead at times, but the talent was there.

6. Committing $38 million to one position makes it difficult to fill needs elsewhere

It's just too bad. Dalton has starting QB talent. You'd think he could find a better situation than Dallas.

I have a feeling that if Dalton gets some PT in Dallas (perhaps by injury), he will expose what many of use already assume about Dak; he's an average NFL QB at best. With the weapons afforded him on offense (and the coaching upgrade), there aren't many viable excuses for the lack of team success. I'm sure Rodgers would welcome back McCarthy if he brought back some of Dallas' offensive players back with him.
