I was just thinking about this today and was going to bump this thread but was beat to the chase! I hope Russ gets the record this year but it will be a delicate balance. If he gets sacked too many times too quickly, then he'll get benched, but if he doesn't get sacked at all then he doesn't get the record. He needs to find the goldilocks sack zone. Stafford and Rodgers can jump up this list too.

Peyton Manning not listed is simply amazing. The best footwork.

In fact, he only got sacked 303 times. Not close to the list! Sure he had some damn good OL’s but I think his footwork, quick release and other things is one of the main causes

Wilson gonna run away and hide with the all time sacked record lol
Hey! That was his OL's fault everywhere he's gone! Don't let anyone else try to convince you otherwise... There were quite a few big time RW fans in Seattle that were convinced otherwise... They wore the rose-colored glasses when it came to RW...

Hooo boy this is going to embroil Tomlin in controversy if this goes poorly.

Let's be real... The main concern should be the Steelers OL and Wilson's declining mobility mixing like oil & water. The team already has enough trouble executing every single play... Fields' legs are something that the offense relies on too often.

Maybe Russ has better decision making skills pre-snap and can get the ball out quicker... But I'm not buying it. Hope I'm wrong.

Eh, if it's not working I don't think Tomlin will hesitate to swap back.

Sadly for this thread.

Go Russ!

To the detriment of Fields, whom has been doing just fine with the craptastic supporting cast they have.

Unfortunately for the Steelers Defense. I dont think either QB is the answer for the Steelers.

He only needs 43 - how many will he get this week?

Still 35 years young!

Wilson didn't make much progress yesterday, but looks like he's solidly back in the saddle.

Rodgers might break the record first with the way his season has been going.

He was kind of a tale of two cities - some of his passes were embarrassingly off target, especially the short ones. But then he had some really nice deeper completions that I don't think Fields would have made. All in all, I can see why Tomlin made the switch and why Wilson keeps the job....at least for the time being.

The interesting thing about RWs "horrible season last year" is it really wasn't. It's pretty exactly what he is and has been. He had a very good TD to int ratio as usual. He also tended to hold on to the ball too long as short QBs tend to do. He took a lot of sacks cause he tends to take take sacks rather than risk an int.

That of course doesn't exactly jive with what Payton wants out of a QB

Bottom line is RW, as annoying as he is with his weirdness, can be and is dynamic enough to lead a team with a dynamic defense.

That was the main issue with the Broncos last year. Not the offense.

RW outplayed Aaron Rodgers and if you compare and contrast their careers, even statistically, RW isn't exactly FAAAR behind Rodgers.

Does anyone know that up until 2018 Rodgers was 0 and 37 when trailing in the 4th quarter against any team with a winning record? Rodgers has like 21 4th quarter comebacks to his credit.

Just saying. RW made Rodgers look like the lesser QB.

BTW, RW had a higher passer rating last year than...

Mahomes
Allen
Herbert
Goff
