I think the Lakers will make the playoffs.
But it isn't 100%. More like 85-90, IMO.
I have never seen a better 10th best team in my lifetime. The gap between 3-10 is tiny.
So you think there is no chance the Lakers miss the playoffs?

Anything can happen. Not a single team in the league is 100% safe from crashing and burning this season.
The Warriors about a 99% chance to make the playoffs. If I were to round up it would be a 100%.
The Rockets are about a 95% chance.
The Lakers are probably closer to a 70% chance
^ All this is fine... I don't so much disagree with it as have a firm belief that we coud put LeBron James on any team in the NBA... pick one... and that team would be in the playoffs.First off the projections for the Lakers are, so far, between 41.5 wins and 48.5 wins. 41.5 is likely too low unless Lebron misses significant time. But if we look at Vegas'(48.5) number then missing the playoffs is a very real possibility. The 8th seed last year was a 47 win team. So if the Lakers underachieve a little from the vegas lines, 2 games, then they miss the playoffs. It's not exactly an earth shattering event.

Houston would need major injuries. More than just CP3.
But you are right. West is legit.
It's a ball park number.
Are you fucking crazy?!? It's OBVIOUSLY 83%I'll go with 85%

Another website has the Lakers at 52.5. The one Wiggy was using for his propsed bets. The article makes some interesting points.

12-18? Have you seen their schedule?Pretty much how I see. I would probably put their chances closer to 75% though.
The big issue for the Lakers, IMO, is going to be those first 30 or so games. The Heat started .500 or so their first year with Lebron and the Cavs were .500 after 40 games with him. Both of those teams had significantly better talent than this Lakers team.
Given that it seems, at least for the moment, that this team is going to be structured very differently than the previous teams, I think it is entirely possible that this team could be sub-.500 after 30 games. If they start 12-18 to start the season, as an example, they would need to play .700 ball to finish out the season with 48 wins. That's a big ask for this team.
