No, actually next year is his second year.
And I'm basing it off of my complaints when the game was actually going on. Getting FGs early on when the score is still close because he decides to stop feeding Howard for some stupid reason. Giving a coach a pass for stupid decisions because of personnel is a terrible way to run a franchise.
Do you have any numbers that support this? Because I remember Howard being run and unsuccessfully so plenty of times down in the red zone. I also remember 8 of his rushing TD's, most of them coming in the red zone. Possibly even all of them, not sure.
Next year is his first real year. Quit looking for scape goats. I'm not going to excuse a coach for "poor personnel" that he went into the year with. However, when you play half of the season with your practice squad out there and three different QB's, one you didn't start the season with. It's not like you can really run the offense you planned on. It becomes very limited.
Finding a scape goat because it makes you sleep better at night, is a terrible way to run a franchise.
